A fan film is doing what a handful of like Green Goblin and Mysterio, over the last two decades, but a fan campaign hopes to do one particular bad guy justice.

On at the Daily Bugle. While things seem pleasant with Betty Brant, Parker's day gets a bit worse when he's suddenly chewed out by his boss, J. Jonah Jameson.

Peter is reprimanded for his lack of production and is told his salary is being put on hold until he provides good photos. If that wasn't bad enough, the Daily Bugle is suddenly attacked by a supervillain as the Scorpion bursts in and menacingly asks "Where is he?".

Spider-Man Fan Film Brings the Scorpion to Live Action

Mac Gargan Finally Gets the Respect He's Due

As one of the biggest heroes in the Marvel Universe, Spider-Man has been the star of a lot of films. With three separate series of films under his belt, the wall-crawler has gone up against several notable villains. The Raimi trilogy had Peter Parker fight Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, Sandman, and Venom. The Marc Webb duology got to bring the Chameleon and Electro to life (as well as another Green Goblin). Most recently, the Jon Watts trilogy had Spider-Man take on Vulture and Mysterio in the first two films, while the third brought several villains from previous movies back.

The closest fans have come to seeing the Scorpion in live-action was in Spider-Man: Homecoming, which featured a cameo by Mac Gargan, albeit not suited up with his iconic gear. Unfortunately, that cameo has yet to pay off with a full-fledged Scorpion appearance, leaving fans who have been itching to see a Spider-Man/Scorpion battle frustrated. But Spider-Man: Courtesy understands that there’s real potential in a villain like Scorpion. While the teaser doesn’t show much of him in action, it does an amazing job selling the kind of threat the Scorpion is to Spider-Man and his allies.

Scorpion Deserves His Chance in the Spotlight Like Other Spider-Man Villains

Spider-Man: Courtesy Has Done More for Gargan Than Any Movie

To be fair, Spider-Man has a lot of villains and not everyone can feature in a movie. But Scorpion’s well-known, and while he’s come incredibly close, he's never gotten the chance to show what he’s capable of in a movie. With just a teaser, Spider-Man: Courtesy is already doing more for Gargan than nearly ten live-action films have done. There’s a lot of love and respect in this fan film, not just for Scorpion, but for the entire Spider-Man mythos. Hopefully, Spider-Man: Courtesy will get the funding it needs to bring its vision and its take on Scorpion to life.

Fans can donate to Spider-Man: Courtesy on its official Kickstarter.
