After the events of Spider-Man: Far From Home almost has to be a prequel film or it risks making no sense in the Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline. The franchise's Infinity Saga may have come to a close with the release of the mega culminating film, but the studio is going to remain as active as ever with several projects. First on deck is Far From Home, the second solo Spider-Man film in the franchise, which hits theaters in July.
A lot of questions regarding Far From Home were raised in the immediate aftermath of the film picks up minutes after Endgame, but after seeing the latest Avengers film, that could raise some serious problems.
The bulk of Endgame takes place five years after The Decimation, with the survivors still trying to pick up the pieces after suffering tremendous losses. When the Avengers are successful in their mission to bring the fallen back, all of the dead heroes return as their pre-snap selves and have not aged five years like the survivors. And this is where things start to become complicated for Far From Home.
In Homecoming, Peter is a sophomore in high school, so by the end of Endgame, any surviving of his class are college-aged. But Far From Home, of course, the Far From Home trailer) may not have been (there's nothing out there to confirm whether or not he survived). So in the current state of the MCU, Flash could be five years older than some of the people he went to high school with. It'd be logical, then, to have Far From Home take place before Infinity War, avoiding any plot holes or inconsistencies.
That being said, the MCU's Spider-Man films are no stranger to mucking up the timeline, as evidenced by it's only a matter of time before Sony drops the next trailer.
