Adrian Toomes aka Vulture (Michael Keaton) won't make an appearance in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Thanks to a surprising reveal that Vulture was the father of Peter's high school crush Liz (Laura Harrier), the friendly neighborhood hero was suddenly at a crossroads. The connection and Keaton's performance immediately made Vulture one of the Keaton was returning in some form, but that unfortunately isn't the case.

After the release of the brand new trailerSpider-Man: Far From Home director Jon Watts confirmed to Fandango that "Keaton is not in the movie." It's unclear if it was ever part of the plan for Vulture to make an appearance of some size in the sequel though. In addition to not featuring Vulture, Watts also confirmed that Harrier didn't film anything for the movie either.

As great as it would be to see Vulture return so soon, Spider-Man: Far From Home already appears to have enough villains as it is. Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) is currently being The Elementals that pose the biggest threat to Peter's summer vacation, so it'll be up to him and Mysterio to try and take them down. Plus, the largely overseas adventure and Vulture still possibly being incarcerated would make it a bit trickier to find a natural way for him to return.

Keaton may not be reprising the villainous role in Spider-Man: Far From Home, but there's still a decent chance that he'll do so in a future film. Sony and Marvel Studios have quickly introduced several Spidey villains to the MCU, and this could culminate with them all teaming up to become the Sinister Six and fight their collective foe. If this is the long-term plan for Spider-Man's villains, then Spider-Man: Far From Home could help introduce some potential allies for Vulture to have whenever he does make his return.
