Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 is set to begin filming this June. After producing a successful hit with Tom Holland's first standalone film as the Marvel Cinematic Universe's version of the wall-crawling superhero, Marvel Studios, and Sony Entertainment Pictures are looking to continue their collaboration via the imminent sequel.
Not much is known regarding the sequel and it might still be too early to talk about it, considering there are five more films that are on the Marvel docket before it. However, we can expect that Parker will still be depicted as high school student -- something that will remain intact throughout the planned trilogy for the character. Original helmer Spider-Man: Homecoming, only with Spidey having more experience being a superhero.

A report from sometime between April and May of this year, with its pre-production already starting way back last August.
Despite the slight delay, the timing makes sense with some insider information regarding the sequel hitting online in the last several weeks. There were the audition tapes of a supposedly Captain America: Civil War. Having sequences in the city might mean that Parker either came back or there will be a flashback giving us more Spidey's perspective on that big airport scuffle among the warring Avengers factions. It's also possible that it is for an entirely new reason.
Given that Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 will be very different after the Phase 3 capper. Chances are that there will be more cosmic adventures in the franchise moving forward and having an Earth-bound character like Spidey is a great way to make sure that the series remains grounded amidst all the potential galaxy/dimension hopping in the future.
