Tom Holland addresses his future as Spider-Man and contemplates which villain the superhero should face next. Kevin Feige excited Marvel fans when he revealed that Spider-Man 4 was in development, and Holland has kept that excitement alive with news of meetings about the movie, although they have halted during the WGA strike. Although details are being kept under wraps, this points to Spider-Man's story continuing in the MCU after the wildly successful Spider-Man: No Way Home.

In an exclusive interview with Screen Rant for new series The Crowded Room, Holland addressed his future as Spider-Man. He reiterated his love for Spider-Man and shared his hopes to reprise the role. He also had difficulty picking which villain the wall-crawler should face off against next, saying, "Spider-Man has got arguably some of the best villains in the comic book world." Check out Holland's full quote and interview below:

Tom Holland: That's a really tough question. I mean, Spider-Man has got arguably some of the best villains in the comic book world. I love the character. I love Spider-Man. I'd be lucky to play him again, but we'll have to wait and see.

Which MCU Villains Would Make A Good Match For Tom Holland's Spider-Man?

Vincent D'Onofrio Kingpin Spider-Man Tom Holland Fight

The MCU's Spider-Man has faced a number of powerful villains, including those traditionally tied to the web-slinger like Vulture and Doc Ock, as well as Avengers-level threats like Thanos. Spider-Man: No Way Home brought in the gambit with five of the hero's most infamous villains fighting against three different Spider-Men. The MCU's Peter Parker gained an arch nemesis with the Green Goblin killing his Aunt May, but he also saw how each of the antagonists had lost themselves either through technology, mental illness, or power.

Spider-Man 4 will introduce an intriguing new life for the hero after losing Aunt May and having Doctor Strange erase Peter Parker from the minds of the collective world at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home. This sets up the MCU's Peter Parker to truly become the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man he's never had the opportunity to be. Spider-Man: No Way Home also sets up at least one potential antagonist, Venom, with the trace of a symbiote left behind by Eddie Brock.

Another possibility, so long as Spider-Man sticks to New York, is Kingpin. He is currently being set up as one of the MCU's most dangerous ground-level villains after first appearing in Netflix's Daredevil. Kingpin made his official MCU debut in Hawkeye and will return in both Echo and Daredevil: Born Again. Spider-Man 4 could be the final showdown for Kingpin after defeating countless New York-based heroes and finally drawing the attention of the wall-crawler. This would also help connect Spider-Man to the other New York-based heroes, creating a new system for the now isolated hero.
