Marvel Studios just introduced a new Spider-Man to the Peter Parker, voiced by What If...?'s Hudson Thames. The series' double-premiere did something Marvel Studios avoided with Tom Holland's Spider-Man, by having Peter Parker's origin story and evolution into Spider-Man be, albeit briefly, shown on-screen.
When bringing Tom Holland's Spider-Man into the MCU in 2016's Captain America: Civil War, Marvel Studios decided not to explore the character's origin story. Marvel argued that new Spider-Man origin story.
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man’s Peter Parker Origin Story Scene Mirrors Miles Morales' Spider-Verse Origins
Peter Parker Was Bitten By A Spider In Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man's Premiere
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man episode 1, "Amazing Fantasy," saw Peter Parker caught in the middle of a battle between Doctor Strange and a Symbiote alien on his first day at Midtown High School. The pair come through a portal, presumably to another dimension, and a spider follows them through, which soon bites Peter Parker and leads to him gaining spider-like superhuman abilities. This featured a brilliant twist on the established Spider-Man origin story from Marvel Comics, and creates connective tissue to the wider MCU thanks to the appearance of Doctor Strange, but this story has already been done.
2018's Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse saw Sony Animation bring Miles Morales' version of the wall-crawler to life for the first time, exploring his own origin story as Brooklyn's Spider-Man from Earth-1610. This saw Miles Morales bitten by a spider from Earth-42, rather than his own world, with the arachnid having entered through the Kingpin's collider. Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man copies Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse by having Peter Parker bitten by a spider seemingly not from his world, which could cause huge problems for Spider-Man in the series' episodes.

Peter Parker May Not Be Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man's Only Spider-Man
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man has already teased a number of heroes who haven't yet made their debuts in the live-action MCU, and a new one could be on the horizon thanks to Peter Parker's new origin story. In 2017's Spider-Man: Homecoming, Peter Parker revealed to Ned Leeds that the spider that bit him died soon after. In Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, however, the spider that bit Hudson Thames' Peter Parker did not die, and instead escapes, hitching a ride on a nearby student's backpack.

In Marvel Comics, Miles Morales is bitten by a spider that had been exposed to Peter Parker's blood during an experiment by Dr. Conrad Markus. Markus hoped to recreate the Spider-Man, and inadvertently succeeded after Miles' uncle, Aaron Davis, stole Markus' formula and unwittingly brought a spider home, too. The spider's survival in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man might have set up Miles Morales' origin story, which could mark the young wall-crawler's debut in the MCU's Multiverse Saga.
How Peter Parker's Origin Story Mirroring Miles Morales' Could Impact Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man
Miles Morales' Origin Story Caused Him Huge Problems
Currently, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man doesn't seem to be heading into a multiversal storyline, but it's very possible that more could be revealed about the Symbiote and spider that Doctor Strange was battling in the series' opening moments. These beings could have come from an alternate world, which would perhaps lead to Peter Parker experiencing a similar turn of events that Miles Morales has in Sony's animated Spider-Verse movies. This could culminate in a massive expansion of the MCU's Spider-Man franchise.

Sony's Spider-Verse Future After Kraven Revealed As Studio Pivots Into "The Next Spider-Man Film" & More Popular Sub-Franchises
After many issues, Sony's Spider-Man Universe is reportedly on its last legs, with the franchise's future after Kraven the Hunter revealed.
Peter Parker's Spider-Man could find himself thrust across the multiverse, perhaps even bringing him into the MCU. It's also possible he could team up with other versions of Spider-Man from alternate realities, while he could partner with a newly-enhanced Miles Morales in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. The MCU's new animated series has only just kicked off, so it's unclear where Hudson Thames' Spider-Man could be heading, but the future is looking bright, dangerous and exciting for Marvel's newest wall-crawler.
