While Spider-Verse - the web of Spider-heroes spread all across the multiverse. For example, in 2018's Spider-Geddon, Miles got a brand new suit and powers that made him a match for almost any other being in the Marvel Universe.
In Marvel's Spider-Geddon, written by Christos Gage and Dan Slott, Miles ed several other Spider-heroes from across the Spider-Verse to fight the evil beings known as the Inheritors. Initially brought together by Otto Octavius' Superior Spider-Man, the Spiders ended up splitting into two groups: those who want to kill the Inheritors, and those who want to keep to their code as heroes and just stop them from hurting anyone else. Naturally, Miles s the latter group.
After several different clashes and brawls with the Inheritors, their father Solus is resurrected, making the war that much more desperate. Eventually, both Spider-teams reunite in the hopes of using the Enigma Force to gain the upper hand in the battle. The Enigma Force is a sentient force of cosmic energy and had previously imbued another Spider-Man with the powers of Captain Universe. When the Spiders summon the Force, it is initially angry. It claims that it is not a tool to be manipulated. Rather, it comes to those who are worthy of its power, and the Spiders before it have all made mistakes. However, desperate times call for desperate measures, and Miles gets angry back, telling the Force that despite none of them being "worthy" by its standards, that shouldn't matter as they're all trying to save the universe and if it won't help, then it should leave. Apparently, the Enigma Force likes Miles' forcefulness and desire to do good, as it imbues him with its power, making him the new Captain Universe.
Eventually, the day is saved, though the Inheritors are not killed. Rather, they get cloned into new bodies as children, with no memory of the hate or hunger for life that their father had forced upon them. Furthermore, Spider Ma'am takes them all in, raising them with new lives and a second chance. Once the day is saved, the Enigma Force leaves Miles, reverting him back to a normal Spider-Man once more.
Captain Universe is still an awesome version of the character, no matter how temporary it was. With the new Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales PS5 game on the horizon in November, it goes without saying that it would be really cool to see a Captain Universe skin featured in the game. Regardless, Captain Universe is by far the most powerful Miles Morales has ever been, and the simple fact that his initiative and determination made him worthy to wield the Enigma Force is pretty dang cool.
