As one of the most popular comic book characters of all time, MCU-related movies, fans have loved almost every web-slinging moment.
After the end credit scenes of No Way Home, Marvel is expected to present some big reveals and a storyline that opens up the possibility of familiar faces from the old Spider-Man franchises.
The Multiverse
As the event that would make most other rumors possible, the multiverse had already been introduced to fans of the MCU thanks to the title of the movie, Loki may lead to its creation. A multiverse storyline for No Way Home would introduce a panoply of possibilities for connections to the older franchises.
Electro
Among the only confirmed rumors is the return of Jamie Foxx as Electro. Appearing in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Foxx took on a glowing blue appearance that veered far away from the yellow and green spandex of his comic book counterpart.
Listed among the cast on IMDb, it's clear the actor is returning to the part, though in what capacity and what costume, remains to be revealed. Still, the return of Foxx as the electrified villain seems to the multiverse storyline for the project
Green Goblin
Could there be a return of Willem Dafoe as Green Goblin? Some of the rumors seem to say so. As the big villain to Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man in the first round of the franchise, Dafoe infused a maniacal menace into the character. Along with enhanced abilities, Green Goblin also boasted a host of gadgets, bombs, and a flying sled that gave Spidey trouble throughout the first film. Though the multiverse would certainly make this return a possibility, thus far there has been no evidence to this rumor.
Daredevil
No need for a multiverse here. Though set in the MCU - as evident by the references to events in the original Avengers movie - the Netflix superhero series Daredevil starred Charlie Cox as the horned hero/defense attorney who dealt with fighting crime on a much smaller scale. Rumors surrounding the appearance of Daredevil in No Way Home revolve around Cox returning to the part in order to defend Spider-Man against accusations of the murder of Mysterio. Though an enticing idea, it seems an unlikely one at this point.
Doc Ock
One of Spider-Man's most iconic villains and the major baddie in Spider-Man 2 - which is widely considered one of the best superhero movies of all time - Doctor Octopus is set to make his return in No Way Home.
Not only that, but according to IMDb, the character will once again be played by Alfred Molina. This news also gives credence to a multiverse storyline in the adventure. Doc Ock is one of Spidey's most formidable foes and Molina's casting has fans chomping at the bit for more news on his return to the role.
Doctor Strange
As the sorcerer supreme, Guardians of the Galaxy in a failed attempt to defeat Thanos himself. It's only natural that Strange would appear in No Way Home, a movie that seems to be a major focal point for the multiverse event that seems to be set to run through the latest phase of the MCU.
Venom
Tom Hardy's anti-hero will eventually cross paths with Tom Holland's version of the wall-crawler. Rumors of this happening in No Way Home have been floating around but seem to have no real validity.
Spidey On The Run
After the shocking return of J.K. Simmons in the role of J. Jonah Jameson in one of the post-credit scenes of Far From Home - and the even more shocking reveal that Mysterio not only survived but revealed the true identity of Spider-Man to the entire world - fans are anxious to see what happens next. Some rumors suggest the web-slinger will stand trial for the murder of Quentin Beck/Mysterio, who fooled the world into thinking he was the hero set to replace Iron Man. Other speculations have Spidey on the run and presumably searching for evidence to prove his innocence.
The Sinister Six
Though the lineup changed a lot over the years, The Sinister Six consisted of six of Spider-Man's deadliest foes and often gave him his toughest challenges in the comics.
The formation of this team was teased in the two Amazing Spider-Man movies but it never came to fruition thanks in part to Sony's decision to scrap the third movie and lend Spider-Man to Disney's MCU. However, hints at the super-villain team have resurfaced with The Vulture, The Scorpion, and Mysterio alive and well in the MCU and Doc Ock and Electro popping up once again. One more makes six.
Spider-Men
Perhaps the biggest rumor surrounding No Way Home is that the inclusion of the multiverse will allow for the return of both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in their respective roles as Peter Parker/Spider-Man from the two previous runs of the franchise. This is a concept Spider-Fans have seen before in the animated hit Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and it would certainly be an entertaining turn of events. We could even see the three Spider-Men take on the Sinister Six. This is a rumor that seems a likely one with the return of Alfred Molina and Jamie Foxx to their Spidey-villain roles but, as always, the folks at Marvel and Disney are keeping a tight lid on the details about the highly anticipated Spider-Man: No Way Home.
