Summary

  • Starting Marvel's Spider-Man 2 in New Game Plus with the symbiote suit leads to the creation of the infamous "Poop Man" character.
  • Peter and Miles get covered in sand during the Sandman opening sequence, which sticks to the symbiote suits resembling fecal matter.
  • Players find entertainment in the accidental poop-esque design of Peter Pooper, not wanting it to be patched out of the game.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 finally got a New Game Plus update last week, letting players replay the entirety of the game with all their levels, gadgets, and suits equipped from the start, and the option to unlock new ones via a series of new "Ultimate" levels. Unfortunately, wearing one particular suit at the very beginning of the game in New Game Plus has some hilariously gross consequences.

As discovered by X lukec1605 (via GamesRadar+), wearing Peter Parker's symbiote suit at the start of the game results in a character that fans have dubbed "Poop Man", "SPOOder-Man" or "Peter Pooper". Marvel's Spider-Man has a particularly memorable opening sequence in which Peter and Miles fight Sandman as the classic villain causes mass destruction across New York City, and it's through this sequence that Peter Pooper is born.

Every New Feature Coming To Marvel's Spider-Man 2 New Game Plus Update

Spider-Man 2's new update will add several highly-requested features, such as New Game Plus, the ability to change the time of day, and more.

The Sandman Opening Sequence Has Peter And Miles Covered In Sand

And This Seems To Happen Regardless Of Which Suit They WearPeter and Miles swing toward a giant, skyscraper-high Sandman in Marvel's Spider-Man 2

As Peter and Miles get caught up in sandstorms and fly through both human-sized and a giant-sized version of Sandman, they understandably get covered in sand. In the main game, this just makes their default, fabric-based costume look slightly washed out and dirty, and Peter will soon change into a spare, cleaner suit atop a rooftop once the prologue has ended.

In New Game Plus, however, players can see how this sand sticks to the other suits, namely the symbiote ones. Peter's Black and Symbiote suits aren't designed to look like fabric, as they are supposed to be an alien life form, and instead, they look sticky and gloopy with some veiny elements or textures akin to that of H.R. Giger's Xenomorph designs. In the moments later in the game when Peter is supposed to be wearing the suit, these designs look cool, working perfectly with the rain and nighttime lighting of those moments in particular, but when combined with sand, it does resemble fecal matter.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 players don't want Peter Pooper patched out of the game either, with the accidental poop-esque design providing a source of entertainment. X TrafalgarLog simply stated "If they patch out Peter Pooper I'm not playing the DLC", and JessTho74499102 pointed out that discovering things like this is the "main reason" players play New Game Plus.
