Miles Morales is revealed.
Readers are introduced to a dark new version of Miles Morales in Spider-Man: Reign 2 #1 by Kaare Andrews and Brian Reber. In this twisted future, the city of New York has become a total police state, with the Reign soldiers making sure every citizen is kept in line and the Webb system making sure no one gets in or out. While Peter thought he had destroyed this system, it seems that it is stronger than ever, and under the control of Kingpin.
After Peter escapes a facility that he has no memory of ever being in, it's revealed that the person who helped capture him was none other than Miles Morales. This version of Miles is far older and more grizzled, and it seems, for some reason, he's perfectly fine selling out his former mentor.

Miles Morales May Have Just Topped Peter Parker for Most Terrifying Spider-Man Form Ever
Spider-Man’s horrific vampire transformation in Blood Hunt gives Miles Morales one of the most unsettling versions of the character ever seen.
Kingpin Enlists Miles Morales To Capture Peter Once Again
Spider-Man: Reign 2 #1 by Kaare Andrews and Brian Reber, Jose Villarrubia, and Joe Caramagna
The future of Spider-Man: Reign is pretty dark, with almost every superhero chased out of New York except for Spider-Man. Now that the story has revealed everyone outside of New York is dead, it doesn't seem like any heroes are coming to the rescue. While it seemed like Spider-Man destroyed the Webb and saved the day back Miles would betray Peter is unknown.
One of the great things about Marvel revisiting this twisted future is being able to incorporate characters who simply didn't exist before. Spider-Man: Reign first came out way back in 2007, and Miles Morales wasn't invented until 2011. This means that things like what Miles was doing in this dark future were simply impossible to cover. This return to this world now gives writer Kaare Andrews the full freedom to explore how Miles interacts in this dark world. Much older and far more grizzled, will his years of experience let him defeat his former mentor?
Miles And Peter Don't Seem To Be Friends In This Future
Miles Has Betrayed Peter For Some Reason
There are tons of questions that are currently unanswered, like why Peter failed to free the city of New York and destroy the Webb, or why Miles helped capture Peter. As further issues come out, there's no doubt these questions will be answered, and it seems that readers will even see the two Spider-Men fight against one another. Last time, Peter Parker had to deal with a corrupt mayor and a symbiote invasion, and while the threat isn't fully clear this time, it seems the original Spider-Man will have to take on both Miles Morales and the Kingpin.
