As Spider-Man in their brand-new crossover, Miles Morales is set to have a major advantage over Wade Wilson and his daughter in the fight. Deadpool has gone through a lot of changes in his latest series, and his recent resurrection brought forth serious consequences that will cause him a lot of pain during his newest mission to take out the young web-slinging hero.

Deadpool #10 - written by Cody Ziglar and drawn by Rogê Antônio - serves as a prologue to the Pools of Blood crossover between Deadpool and Miles Morales: Spider-Man, leading directly into Wade setting his sights on Spidey as he swings through the city. However, before that, the issue provides some much-needed clarification on the status of Deadpool’s powers.

After being resurrected by his similarly super-powered daughter, Wade and Ellie now share her inferior healing factor, meaning they’ll both regenerate much slower than usual - over days rather than seconds. With their wounds taking more time to heal, the crossover will definitely earn its bloody title.

Deadpool #10 by Ziglar and Antônio - Wade and Ellie clarify the status of their healing factors

Even though Deadpool has way more experience than the version of Spider-Man he’s going up against, Wade and his daughter still face an uphill battle as they try to take on the powerful young hero with their abilities diminished. With Miles Morales continuously unlocking more grand feats of power, and wearing a fancy new Vibranium suit, it seems like he’s got this fight with the two Deadpools in the bag. Without the usual strength of his healing factor (which Wade has relied on too heavily over the years) picking a fight with Miles’ Spider-Man is an even worse idea than it sounds.

The four-part crossover officially begins with Deadpool #11 by Ziglar and artist Andrea Di Vito, which will feature the fallout of the latest issue’s cliffhanger ending, where Spider-Man is caught in the crosshairs as Deadpool’s next target. Of course, one of the major risks is that Miles Morales has experienced Deadpool's original healing factor and could well expect him to be his usual, near-indestructible self. If so, Miles is not going to hold back, despite the fact he could really hurt Wade given his power downgrade.

Miles Morales Spider-Man in Vibranium Suit with Marvel’s New Deadpool Ellie

With the mysterious big bad orchestrating the assassination of Miles Morales still to be revealed, it’s likely that both versions of Deadpool will eventually have to forces with Spidey against the crossover’s true villain. However, Wade and Ellie's Deadpools having less powerful healing factors going into the team-up certainly raises the stakes and puts the trio of heroes in even more danger. Whether at the hands of Spider-Man or his current employer, Deadpool could be seriously injured in this crossover.

Marvel seems to be setting Miles and Ellie up as a new take on the Spider-Man and Deadpool dynamic, with the originals gradually becoming close friends over their shared adventures. If Marvel is trying to kick off a lasting hero friendship, then doing some real damage to all three heroes is the perfect way to put them through a crucible that will create new bonds. The story promises pools of blood, but fans might need to prepare for a sea of it.

In both the initial brawl with Spider-Man and their likely team-up against a secret supervillain, both Deadpools could get seriously hurt. As Wade tries to take out Miles, he might come to realize that he’s surprisingly out of his league. The battle between Deadpool and Miles Morales might just prove that the strength of Wade Wilson’s former healing factor is truly the only thing that let him keep up with Spider-Man.
