He prepares the new players for what's coming — though they don't initially believe him — and guides them on how to get past Young-hee's motion sensors. But while a lot of players survive the bloodbath, the first death does send the game spiraling into chaos.
Player 196 is the first to new Squid Game characters alive, but some of them see Player 196's body and start running or screaming — actions that ultimately lead to their deaths as well. This response to the first Red Light Green Light death is to be expected — and given the nature of Player 196's demise, one has to wonder if it was orchestrated.

The Bee Comes Out Of Nowhere To Throw The Game Into Chaos
Player 196 initially does well during Squid Game season 2's Red Light Green Light challenge, even managing to flirt with T.O.P.'s character, Thanos, while playing the first game. It's only due to an external factor that she moves and loses her life in "001": a bee lands on her neck, and she freaks out over the insect's presence. Player 196 is clearly afraid of bees, so the news that there's one sitting on her is an unwelcome surprise. Her response is a natural one, but it's not one she can afford to have during a game like Red Light Green Light.

Squid Game season 2 impressively continues Gi-hun’s story from season 1, but some episodes of the newest outing are more memorable than others.
It's unclear where the bee comes from, as the tournament seems to take place in a tightly controlled environment. While Red Light Green Light is made to look like it's outdoors, it appears to actually be played inside a room — a pretty massive one, according to Netflix's description of the set. And if Red Light Green Light unfolds indoors, it's unlikely the bee that lands on Player 196 just happens to wander in. The bee's presence in Squid Game season 2, episode 3 is a little too convenient, raising questions about whether it's an intentional addition to the game.

The VIPs Need A Good Show, So Some Of The Players Must Die
Red Light Green Light goes pretty smoothly until Player 196 freaks out over the bee, and its presence seems a little too convenient for the Games' organizers. They obviously want the tournament to be a bloodbath, as that's the entire reason the VIPs watch it. If the first challenge doesn't kill anyone, that would be massively disappointing for them. And so, it seems probable that the bee is planted by the Games' organizers with the intention of causing panic, and thus, more deaths.
It stands to reason that the Games' organizers wouldn't mind rigging the outcome of a challenge in a more direct way, especially one as important as the first game.
The Front Man/Player 001 twist at the end of the installment proves that the Games' organizers have no qualms about directly interfering in the tournament. The competition is clearly designed in a way to manipulate its players, pushing them to make poor choices that result in early ends. With that in mind, it stands to reason that the Games' organizers wouldn't mind rigging the outcome of a challenge in a more direct way, especially one as important as the first game. They likely knew a bee would elicit panic from someone and that their death would do the rest.
Why The Front Man Would Rig The Red Light Green Light Game In Season 2
He Knows Gi-hun Will Try To Save The Other Players
With the Front Man knowing that Gi-hun is planning to derail the Games, it's likely he takes an abundance of caution when executing the tournament in season 2. His own presence in the competition is part of this, but it could extend to Red Light Green Light as well. Gi-hun manages to use Young-hee's shortcomings against the Games' organizers in Squid Game season 2, proving it's possible to get the upper hand within the tournament. Squid Game season 2's mid-credits scene shows how well that goes over, but the Front Man can't allow this, even during the first game.
Squid Game season 2 is confirmed for 2025.
By doing something as simple as releasing a bee into the area, the Games' organizers could ensure that the VIPs still get the show they're hoping for — and that Gi-hun's mission to save lives isn't a total success. It'd be surprising if they didn't take some measures to ensure that Red Light Green Light would go the way they wanted. The bee could very well be one of them, as its inclusion in Squid Game season 2 simply feels too convenient to be anything else.
