After two seasons in the 32nd century, change of pace from the galactic threats of The Burn and the Dark Matter Anomaly in Discovery seasons 3 and 4. But along with a chance to further explore the galaxy, Star Trek: Discovery must reveal the 32nd century USS Enterprise.

Star Trek: Discovery season 4 established that there is, indeed, an Enterprise in the distant future, along with the USS Voyager-J. During season 4's investigation into the DMA, Star Trek: Discovery noted that the Enterprise and Voyager worked together. The Enterprise is presumably still the flagship of the United Federation of Planets, and Discovery must not avoid showing it any longer. Further, the details of the Enterprise - which letter and generation it is, what class of starship, and who the Enterprise in Star Trek: Discovery season 2.

Picard Season 2 Jean-Luc and the USS Enterprise-F

The potential reveal of the USS Enterprise in Star Trek: Discovery season 5 would nicely synch it with Star Trek: Picard season 3, which will introduce the USS Enterprise-F. It will be the first time a new Starship Enterprise will be seen since Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) commanded the Sovereign-class Enterprise-E in Star Trek: First after the Enterprise-D was destroyed in Star Trek Generations. Star Trek: Discovery finally showing the 32nd-century Enterprise would continue the storied legacy of the greatest ship in Starfleet from the 25th century to the 32nd.

The classic Constitution-class Starship Enterprise has been given a new life by season 3 bringing in the Enterprise-F will be the first time it's canonically seen. If Star Trek: Discovery season 5 unveils the Enterprise of its era, it will mark a complete Enterprise renaissance. It will be the first time three versions of the Starship Enterprise will be seen in three current Star Trek shows set in three different eras.

Who Should Be Captain Of Star Trek: Discovery's Enterprise?

Captain Saru Star Trek

The question of who the Captain of the Enterprise is in Star Trek: Discovery season 5's era could actually solve a lingering problem in the show. Ever since Michael Burnham accepted her promotion to Captain of the Discovery, Captain Saru (Doug Jones) has been the odd man out. The noble Kelpien became Michael's Number One, but Saru's rank is too high for him to continue as Discovery's First Officer. Instead, it would be fitting if Saru became the new Captain of the Enterprise.

Star Trek: Discovery is Michael Burnham's show, and her story was structured for her to gradually earn the USS Discovery's Captaincy, so she can't be moved from the titular starship. Meanwhile, Saru is left inexplicably content with serving on Discovery but not being its Captain. What would be fitting is if Captain Saru accepted command of the USS Enterprise in Discovery season 5. There are creative ways to give Saru the Federation flagship while still keeping him a main character in Star Trek: Discovery, and having the Enterprise as a 'main character' would only strengthen the Michael Burnham-led series.
