Several years after their introduction on Lursa and B'Etor worked with the Romulans to install Duras's son as the Klingon Chancellor, leading to the Klingon Civil War.

After the Duras sisters' plan failed, they sought other ways to gain funds and rebuild their forces. With their over-the-top Klingon personalities and attempts to seduce every male they came into conflict with, Lursa and B'Etor may not have seemed like particularly formidable enemies, especially when compared with the Federation's greatest foes. Still, they were dangerous, and the Klingon siblings formed an alliance with El-Aurian scientist Dr. Tolian Soran (Malcolm McDowell) in Star Trek Generations. The Duras sisters made their final stand against the USS Enterprise-D, damaging the ship enough to destroy it — thanks in part to some unwilling help from Lt. Commander Geordi La Forge (LeVar Burton).

Lursa & B’Etor Caused USS Enterprise-D’s Destruction In Star Trek Generations

The Klingon Sisters Accomplished What No Other Trek Villain Has

With help from Dr. Soran, the Duras sisters brought an end to the USS Enterprise-D in Star Trek Generations, although Commander Will Riker (Jonathan Frakes) and his crew destroyed their Bird-of-Prey in return. Ordinarily, one Klingon Bird-of-Prey would be no match for the Galaxy Class Enterprise-D, but Soran had altered Georgi La Forge's VISOR to transmit to the Duras sisters. This allowed Lursa and B'Etor to see the Enterprise's exact shield modulation, rendering the ship's shields basically useless. From their Bird-of-Prey, Lursa and B'Etor dealt the Enterprise enough damage to cause a warp core breach, which eventually resulted in the saucer section of the ship crash-landing on the surface of Veridian III.

Star Trek Generations makes the Duras sisters the only villains to have successfully destroyed a starship named Enterprise in Star Trek's Prime Universe. The original Enterprise NX-01 commanded by Captain Jonathan Archer (Scott Bakula) came to rest at the Fleet Museum on Athan Prime, as did the USS Enterprise-A. Captain James T. Kirk (William Shatner) had to self-destruct his original USS Enterprise in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock. The USS Enterprise-C was destroyed in a battle with the Romulans, and the fates of the Enterprise-B and E remain unknown. The Enterprise-F was decommissioned and replaced by the USS Enterprise-G, which remains in active duty under the command of Captain Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan).

Star Trek: Picard Season 3 Reversed Lursa & B’Etor’s Greatest Accomplishment

Geordi La Forge Rebuilt & Restored The USS Enterprise-D

As revealed in Star Trek: Picard season 3, Commodore Geordi La Forge spent twenty years painstakingly rebuilding the USS Enterprise-D. After retrieving the saucer section from Veridian III and gathering parts from various other ships, Geordi eventually restored the Enterprise-D to its original glory. This proved to be incredible foresight on his part, as the iconic Enterprise became a vital asset in the fight against the Borg/Changeling threat. iral Picard and his crew reunited on the Enterprise-D bridge, saving the Federation yet again, completely overshadowing the story of the ship's destruction.

The USS Enterprise-D came to rest at the Fleet Museum, and the Duras sisters' greatest accomplishment became little more than a footnote in its impressive history.

After its galaxy-saving final mission, the USS Enterprise-D came to rest at the Fleet Museum, and the Duras sisters' greatest accomplishment became little more than a footnote in its impressive history. Even as Geordi discussed his renovation project in Star Trek: Picard season 3, he made no mention of the Duras sisters. In swooping in to save the day one last time, iral Picard and his crew cemented the legacy of the Enterprise-D as one of Starfleet's most important ships. Thanks to his love for Star Trek: The Next Generation's Enterprise-D, Geordi reversed the most impressive achievement of the Duras sisters and ensured that history will never forget the name Enterprise.
