After Luke meets the mysterious figure in these shocking and horrifying circumstances under the surface of the Gazian System, he asks where he is. Instead of replying, the man uses the Force to snag Luke’s lightsaber. The man comments on the hilt of the Jedi weapon as well as the weight, making it clear that he haS wielded one before.

Between the example of expert-level Force usage and his familiarity with a lightsaber, this mysterious new figure is prime to become the new teacher of Luke Skywalker. The most terrifying aspect of Luke’s encounter with this Force- is how they meet in such a terrifying fashion in a hellish and claustrophobic area on a strange and horrific planet. Plus, the cryptic nature of the man’s reaction to meeting Luke has sinister undertones that have yet to be revealed.
