WARNING! Spoilers ahead for Andor season 2, episodes 10, 11, and 12! The Andor is a launchpad for a new kind of Star Wars - and he clearly wasn't just referring to different genres. Where most Star Wars showrunners want to take toys out of the toybox to play with them, Gilroy wanted to leave more there for the future.

The end of Andor season 2 served as perfect setup for Rogue One. The fates of characters like Cassian Andor, K-2SO, and Melshi may be certain, but there are still so many mysteries yet to be revealed. Here are the top ten that I'm wrestling with, even after the finale.

10 When Does Bix Find Out About Cassian’s Death?

Bix Was Seen on Mina-Rau at the End of Andor

Andor season 2 revealed Adria Arjona's Bix had settled on Mina-Rau after leaving Cassian. Bix had a baby, suggesting she'd left in part because she was pregnant, while hoping Cassian would continue fighting to liberate the galaxy for their child. Although Bix had hoped to be reunited with Cassian, this was not to be; he was destined to die on Scarif in Rogue One.

But when will Bix learn Cassian's fate? It was hinted that Vel knew where Bix was, but it’s unclear when or if she would inform Bix of Cassian’s death. Cassian died recovering the Death Stars plans, after all, and the Empire unleashed the Death Star shortly after. Yavin 4 was evacuated just days after the end of Andor. Vel may not have had the time to visit for quite a while.

9 Was Dedra Meero Helping Build The Second Death Star?

The ISB Agent’s Fate Was Poetic

Many theorized Denise Gough's Dedra Meero would wind up aboard the Death Star, meeting her end when Luke Skywalker shot it done. However, Andor’s final arc shows Dedra being detained by Orson Krennic and eventually imprisoned in a Narkina prison. The irony of Dedra’s fate makes her ending perfect, but if the Death Star was essentially operational when she arrived in the prison, it poses the question of what she and her fellow prisoners were building.

The Death Star's Final Secrets Revealed: Andor Season 2 Ending Explained

The ending of Andor season 2 wraps up any lingering answers going into Rogue One’s story, including the final secrets about the Death Star.

1

It's possible that at the time of Dedra’s imprisonment, they were simply making spare parts for if and when the Death Star needed repairs. However, after the success of the Rebel Alliance’s attack and destruction of the Death Star, these pieces were likely channeled into the creation of the second Death Star, which was seen in Return of the Jedi. While there’s no real way to know, it’d be poetic if the thing that landed Dedra in prison — the Death Star — was also what she was forced to help build for the remainder of her imprisonment.

8 What Role Does Kleya Ultimately Play in the Rebellion?

Her Ending is Left Ambiguous

Elizabeth Dulau shone as Kleya Marki in the final arc of Andor, giving audiences not just great action scenes but also hard-hitting emotional scenes. It was clear that Kleya didn’t feel like she belonged on Yavin with the rest of the Rebels, despite her integral part in it. She felt that Luthen’s abrasiveness toward the Rebel Alliance would make her unwelcome.

Andor Season 2, Episodes 10-12 Review: Andor Can't Quite Match Last Week's Perfection, But It Comes Close Enough

Andor season 2, episodes 10-12 end the show in a satisfying way, tightening the focus to a few characters and blending seamlessly with Rogue One.

7

However, the final shot of Kleya on Yavin shows her with a slight "Mona Lisa" smile, indicating that she could find a new home there. However, we ultimately don’t know what happens to Kleya after this moment. She never appeared in Rogue One or the original trilogy, indicating she either left the Rebellion or was just a background player. With Kleya’s extensive knowledge of radios and comms, it wouldn’t be surprising if she ended up working with comms and intelligence for the Rebellion.

7 Was It Cassian Who Broadcasted Nemik’s Manifesto?

& How’d He Do It Without Being Caught?

Karis Nemik talking to Cassian in Andor

It was surprising to hear Karis Nemik’s manifesto in Andor’s series finale, but it felt fitting. Audiences learn from ISB Major Partagaz that the manifesto was broadcast for anyone to hear. It can be assumed that it was Cassian who hardwired the manifesto to be broadcast, since Nemik left it to him. However, that is never confirmed, and it could’ve been handed off to someone else within the Rebellion - perhaps Vel, who also knew Nemik.

Andor season 2, episode 11 showed the Empire tracking radio frequencies, and if Nemik’s manifesto was broadcast often—as was alluded to—how did the Rebels get away with the broadcast without getting caught?

But how did the Rebels pull this off? Andor season 2, episode 11 showed the Empire tracking radio frequencies, and if Nemik’s manifesto was broadcast often—as was alluded to—how did the Rebels get away with the broadcast without getting caught? It’s possible that it was broadcast somewhere different every time, but that doesn’t seem like something Cassian would be able to do.

6 What Happened to Cassian’s Sister?

It Remains Unresolved

Young Cassian Andor on Kenari

Ever since the first episode of Andor, audiences have been wondering if or when Cassian would find his sister. After all, Cassian’s search for his sister on Morlana 1 was how he got mixed up with Luthen Rael in the first place. While not necessarily important to Cassian’s journey as a Rebel, it’s still an aspect of his character that audiences don’t know a lot about.

Andor Showrunner Tony Gilroy Explains Season 2's Surprising Missing Characters

Many were expecting two characters in particular to appear in Andor season 2, and Andor showrunner Tony Gilroy has explained why they didn't.

1

For most of Andor season 2, the question of Cassian’s sister was all but forgotten until the final episode, where Cassian re her in his sleep. According to showrunner Tony Gilroy, he chose not to address this because Cassian's missing sister was core to his entire nature - the root of his desire to save people. Addressing it, bringing a conclusion to that story, would have changed his character too much.

That does mean there's still another Andor out there - Cassian's sister, another part of his legacy. This isn't a problem with Andor itself - it's fine for Cassian to have unresolved pain - but it's surely something Lucasfilm could explore at a later date. It will be fascinating to see whether anything comes of Cassian's sister.

5 Who is Cassian and Bix’s Child?

And Have We Met Them Before?

In the final shot of Andor, we learn that part of the reason why Bix left Cassian on Yavin 4 was because she was pregnant. However, nothing is known about this child. It’s unclear if it’s a boy or a girl, or what their name is. Given the child’s age, it’s possible that they could’ve been involved with the Resistance seen in the Star Wars sequel trilogy. It's unlikely to be a retcon of a known character - no, this really isn't going to be Poe Dameron - it’s nice to think of Cassian Andor and Bix Caleen’s child continuing to fight for freedom.

4 What Happened to Wilmon After The Events of Rogue One?

We Don’t Know The Fate of The Ferrixian

Wilmon was an integral part of Cassian’s story because he was another link to his past on Ferrix. Wilmon was last seen on Yavin 4 with Dreena eating breakfast. Because of his leg injury, it doesn’t seem likely that Wilmon would’ve been a part of the ground forces on Scarif, but he definitely would have piloted to help the Rebels. However, we just don’t know his fate. Considering what a great character Wilmon is, it wouldn’t be surprising if he showed up in another Star Wars movie or TV show.

3 Did The Force Healer Meet Luke?

They Likely Would’ve Sensed One Another

Force Healer (Josie Walker) helps Cassian with his pain and tells him he’s a 'messenger' in Andor Season 2 Ep 7

Image via Disney+

Andor generally avoided discussions of the Force, but did introduce a Force healer who worked on Yavin. We see the Force healer in the show’s final moments, where it’s implied she knew Cassian was going to fulfill his role as a messenger. However, with Luke Skywalker’s appearance imminent on Yavin, it raises the question of whether he met this Force healer offscreen and what, if anything, he learned from her. While the Force healer didn’t claim to be a Jedi, she was more in tune with the Force, indicating that Luke would’ve been able to sense her Force-sensibility.

2 Did Mon Ever Reconcile With Leida?

The Senator’s Daughter’s Fate Remains Unknown

Andor didn't spend much time showing the fallout of Mon Mothma's speech on her family. She fled the Empire, abandoning them; while the series finale shows her husband Perrin still living on Coruscant, there was no mention of her daughter, Leida. Mon Mothma had essentially sacrificed her daughter to help the Rebellion, and it would’ve been interesting to learn more about whether the Senator ever reconnected and possibly apologized to her daughter. Based on the pair’s last interaction, it’s unclear if Leida would understand her mother’s position or ever forgive her.

1 Never Mind The Death Star, How Did The Rebel Alliance Learn About Jyn?

Galen Erso’s Name Was Dropped Often, But Not His Daughters

Andor’s series finale showed how the Rebellion first learned of the Death Star and that Galen Erso was the one behind its construction. Galen Erso’s name was dropped multiple times in the show’s final arc, but his daughter Jyn was never mentioned. It’s unclear how or when they learned Galen had a daughter or how they’d find her. They likely could’ve gotten intelligence from any number of places, including inadvertently from Saw Gerrera, but the audiences aren’t privy to that. Considering what a large role Jyn would play just days after the end of Andor, it’s odd she wasn’t mentioned.

The events of Andor's series finale lead directly into the events of Rogue One.

There’s no doubt that Andor has been one of the best shows Star Wars has ever put out, but that doesn’t mean we still don’t have questions about its ending. While many of these questions are inconsequential to the show’s overall ending, it does leave room for more stories to be told about the Rebel Alliance. More information and fan theories about the different Andor characters’ fates are bound to come out, but for now, we must be patient and see what else Star Wars has up its sleeve for these characters.
