Things Every Player Did In The Original Star Wars Battlefront Games

The Star Wars Battlefront series has a respected legacy spanning nearly two decades, with some gameplay opportunities just too good to resist.

What Modes Will Be Included In Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection?

All of the Star Wars: Battlefront games' most popular multiplayer modes will be returning, with up to 64 players able to the battle online. These include the following:

  • Conquest: Conquest involves capturing specific control points and depleting enemy resources.
  • Capture the Flag: Capture the Flag can be played with 1 or 2 flags, on the ground or in space.
  • Hunt: Hunt involves clearing the battlefield as soldiers or defending a planet as its native species.
  • Assault (Space): Assault sees players piloting legendary starships in space and air dogfights.
  • Hero Assault: This mode pits the games' hero and villain characters against each other in an arena battle, with players fighting to achieve the highest score. Hero Assault was originally only available on Tatooine, but will be playable across all ground maps in the Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection.

Cross-gen multiplayer is ed on the PlayStation and Xbox releases of Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection.

There are also several offline experiences for players to enjoy solo or via two-player splitscreen, such as the classic single-player campaigns. These campaigns cover key moments from across the original and prequel Star Wars trilogies, with Star Wars: Battlefront 2 focusing on the rise of Darth Vader. There is also the return of Galactic Conquest, which saw players craft their own Star Wars narrative through their own tactics and strategy that could depart massively from that of the films.

Finally, players will be able to experience the game's XL mode for the first time on consoles in the Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection. This works similarly to the online Assault mode, with the key aim being to deplete the opponent's resources and troops. The main difference, however, is the sheer number of units that can appear on the map at any one time, making for a truly epic Star Wars experience.
