New footage of the cancelled Boba Fett game, LucasArts' Star Wars: Bounty Hunter, a 2002 action game starring Jango Fett, Star Wars 1313 would have instead put players in the boots of Jango's iconic son Boba Fett.
Despite Star Wars 1313's cancellation in 2013, many details about the interactive adventure have been released afterwards. The game would have reportedly centered around Boba Fett's early years as a spacefaring bounty hunter, with combat focusing on the iconic scoundrel's arsenal of weaponry and gadgets. Star Wars 1313 would have also introduced players to a seedy underground area of Coruscant, the titular Level 1313. Frequently compared to Naughty Dog's Uncharted series, the game would have combined fast-paced shooter combat with massive action setpieces. While fans frequently request that developers revisit cancelled Star Wars games like 1313, the game is currently considered to be dead.
A previously unseen gameplay clip of Star Wars 1313, posted to YouTube by The Vault, demonstrates the cancelled game's playable Boba Fett and Coruscant's Level 1313. As reported by Video Games Chronicle, the footage shows Boba Fett wearing his iconic armor and stalking through the crowded streets of Coruscant's underground area. It then cuts to an action-packed chase scene, with Fett running, jumping and sliding across rooftops in pursuit of his latest target. The Star Wars 1313 demonstration ends with a look at some in-progress combat animations, giving a taste of both close-quarters and long-range encounters.
While Star Wars 1313 may be a lost project, the beloved sci-fi series has many other interactive titles in the works. Publisher Electronic Arts recently announced multiple new Star Wars games, all of which will be developed by Respawn Entertainment. One of these projects will be a sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, a single-player action game released in 2019. Respawn will also be developing a first-person shooter game and a strategy game, both taking place within the expansive Star Wars galaxy, though unfortunately Star Wars 1313 has yet to receive a revival or successor.
Despite Star Wars 1313's cancellation many years ago, new gameplay footage and information about the project continues to be revealed. This newest clip gives fans a better idea of what the full experience could have been, with Boba Fett traversing the dark alleys and massive rooftops of Level 1313 in pursuit of bounties. While the project may unfortunately never see the light of day, the general concept of Star Wars 1313 could still be used to craft a modern-day Star Wars game.
