The Star Wars universe features plenty of Jedi heroes who use the light side of the Force and the Sith Lords who gain their power from the dark. However, there are plenty of beings who operate in the grey area and just for themselves. Smugglers, scoundrels, and plenty of others who are just trying to make their way in the universe. This includes the select group of individuals who take up careers as bounty hunters, tracking down anyone who has a price on their head - like Boba Fett.

A bounty hunter's reputation is their most valuable tool, arguably more than any tech or weapon. Thanks to the one-shot comic, Twin Engine of Destruction, readers get to see just how important that rep is. When another bounty hunter steals the identity and attached reputation of legendary hunter Boba Fett, he can't let it stand, setting his sights on revenge.

This particular issue came out in 1997 from Dark Horse Comics, back when the publisher still held the Star Wars license. The story takes place after the events of Return of The Jedi, which also puts it after the reveal that though The Mandalorian season 2's Boba Fett could change that sooner rather than later. Regardless, the comic shows that Fett's survival didn't come without its wounds, motivating him to see his armor and helmet and his true self and identity more than the scarred man inside. All the more reason for Fett to desire revenge on the man impersonating him.

Boba Fett Impostor Jodo Kast Comic

Fett's dopplegänger's true name in Twin Engines of Destruction is Jodo Kast -- a young hunter who makes the massive mistake of trying to gain more wealth, success, and notoriety by using Fett's name, reputation, and likeness by wearing near-identical Mandalorian armor. Dengar, a fellow bounty hunter and comic book colleague of Boba Fett reports Kast's impersonation to the legendary bounty hunter, and Fett sets a plan in motion. Disguised, Fett hires Kast to go after a fake bounty in order to lure him to a remote location on the planet of Nal Hutta. Kast takes the bait and soon finds himself with Fett's blaster at his head. After a short brawl, the real Boba Fett is naturally the victor. With some parting words, Fett leaves Kast to a death that was inevitable as soon as he considered putting on his armor.

Boba Fett is not a man to be trifled with, as Kast learns all too late. If Fett can survive the maw and digestive tract of a Sarlacc, he's not about to let another hunter take his name and rob him of his reputation (no doubt earned through countless successful jobs and victories). Despite the fact that this one-shot tale is now non-canon, it's still a great perspective and is true to Fett's overall character. Hopefully, reports of Fett's return will come to fruition, and fans will see him in the second season of Disney's The Mandalorian. Boba Fett is literally too cool to die and needs much more time in the spotlight within the Star Wars mythos.
