Star Wars: The Clone Wars is quickly approaching its final season, after Disney+ renewed the fan-favorite show from a galaxy far far away. The spin-off series has provided some truly memorable moments and created iconic characters.

However, the series is as much a part of the Star Wars universe as anything else that Disney creates at this time. We're therefore taking a look at 10 connections to the movies you might have missed in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

CAPTAIN REX

Star Wars Rebels Series Finale Confirms Rex Battle of Endor Return of the Jedi

This is perhaps the most well-known fact on the list, although it's still escaped a fair few people. Captain Rex is one of the most loyal clone troopers of the series and does not kill any Jedi when Order 66 begins to unfold.

He sides with the Rebel Alliance and ages pretty gracefully, to the point at which he's still fighting for this resistance in his old age. A much older Captain Rex can actually be seen in the battle for Endor as part of the Rebel squad.

AHSOKA'S VOICE

Ahsoka Tano is the most popular character to have been created from this series, without a doubt. She's been brought back in various animated shows, but we've yet to actually see her in a live-action movie or TV show. However, we have heard her voice in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

As Rey is gearing up to take on Darth Sidious, she hears a number of familiar voices. With the Jedi order flowing through her, the young Palpatine is stronger than ever. Amongst those voices is actually the former Jedi padawan, Ashoka.

ANAKIN'S FORESHADOWING

There's plenty of foreshadowing throughout the series about Anakin's final fate. We all know that Skywalker turns to the dark side of the force, completing his transition to Darth Vader and ruling the galaxy alongside the Emperor.

The show does a tremendous job in looking at the light and the dark inside Anakin, to the point of which there's an entire story arc that explores the ancient forces of light and dark and how they might be playing off of Skywalker on the planet Mortis.

MAUL'S RISE

Darth Maul Clone Wars

Darth Maul has already made his presence felt once again in the movies, becoming the head of a criminal syndicate known as the Crimson Dawn. The Clone Wars concludes his journey from the prequels and sets him on a new course.

Across the show, we see Maul revived, be given a robotic body, gain allies in the form of the Mandalorians, and then seek to build his empire further. Rebels

ORDER 66

Order 66 is part of the training within the Clone troopers to carry out the commands of the Emperor. This order states that the Jedi Order will be extinguished, with its key getting killed. This training can be seen briefly in some troopers.

There are Clones who actually resent being overseen by Jedi and have been known to be rebellious. There are also those who are foreshadowed to be more loyal than you may expect. Then there's the ominous presence of Cody, who would one day turn on Kenobi.

ORDINARY FOLK

The Star Wars movies put a large emphasis on the power of ordinary folks. Indeed, broom boy, as he has come to be nicknamed, represents this theme well. Any normal person can stand up and fight against the forces of darkness.

The Clone Wars series has used this concept countless times. Whether it's the of a village defending themselves from oncoming pilots, or young aliens realizing their potential as a Jedi or force , there's plenty of narratives ing the theme.

OBI WAN'S FATE

Obi Wan's fate is to live life as Ben Kenobi, watching over a young Luke Skywalker on Tatooine. This destiny is foreshadowed time and time again. Each visit to Tatooine only connects the dots further, but Kenobi takes on a protector role a number of times.

The previously mentioned village, for instance, is a prime example of his future coming to play in his present. What's more, the death of Satine, one of his only true loves, also signifies why he spends that time alone.

ANCIENT SITH

Asajj Ventress is surrounded by the nightsisters on Dathomir after being betrayed by Count Dooku in The Clone Wars

Outside of just the planet Mortis, there's plenty of Sith lore in this series. Whether it's linked to the dark side s of the witches known as the Night Sisters, or perhaps the ancient planets that the group visit to learn more about this evil order.

In the most recent film, the Sith order has been returned in part to its glory, as ancient forces seek to revive Palpatine. These forces have all been previously explored, and the links to the Old Republic can be seen in both the movies and the Clone Wars with mentions of Darth Revan and Bane.

KYBER CRYSTALS

The Kyber Crystals are powerful force-sensitive objects that are eventually used to create the Death Star. In one of the most underrated episodes of the show, these crystals are explored in detail as new Jedi students construct their lightsabers.

This brings the concept back for new people to the franchise, as the crystals are usually only spoken about in expanded material. This sets up the adventures of the crew of the Rogue One for future films as well as showing us how a lightsaber is created.

FORCE BOND

Yoda with his lightsaber drawn in Star Wars: The Clone Wars

Speaking of expanded content, sometimes when a concept is introduced into the films, you must look back into previous material to see if there's some precedent for it. The Force Bond constructed between Rey and Kylo has been seen previously.

During an episode where Yoda struggles with knowing too much about the dark side, he mentions a possible Force Bond to Count Dooku, who could be feeding him these evil thoughts. It's an interesting concept and one that sets up Rey and Ben's relationship well.
