J.J. Abrams revealed his favorite scene from the recently revealed production was complete.
The two most talked-about movies of the year are probably was planned since Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The Emperor was also featured in the prequel trilogy as a senator, before revealing he was a Sith lord. Abrams' favorite scene from the prequel trilogy involves Palpatine, Anakin, and a tragic tale.
In an interview with Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, saying, "There’s just something about that scene." Abrams went on to say, "There’s just two people sitting there. It’s visually interesting. But I just think Ian’s performance in it is spectacular."
In Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, there's a scene where Palpatine talks with Anakin about the Jedi and Sith. According to Palpatine, the two are not that different, with the Jedi also seeking to gain greater power. At this point, Palpatine had not revealed his true self to Anakin, but this scene was a pivotal bridge. Soon the discussion became about the tale of Darth Plagueis, a Sith lord with the power to prevent people from dying. After the story, Anakin asks if one can learn the power. Palpatine's response is that it cannot be learned from a Jedi. It would not be long after this scene that Palpatine would reveal his true identity, and later give Anakin the name Darth Vader.
Could Palpatine have achieved immortality thanks to the power of Darth Plagueis? There are a lot of unrevealed story aspects with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. It remains to be seen how the conflict between Rey and Kylo Ren will factor into the Emperor's return. With the film being over two hours, there will be plenty of time to explore everything. Star Wars fans won't have to wait much longer.
