One of Lucasfilm's  multiple movies in development. Still, other canon materials are set to explore a new part in the history of this universe.

As revealed to be on the way last year, could be the setting for an film series. This led to speculation that this era would be central to Project Luminous, and that appears to be accurate.

Thanks to a pre-order listing on Random House Books, Charles Soule's novel for Project Luminous has been revealed to be Star Wars: The High Republic - Light of the Jedi. The book was listed for pre-order with an August 25, 2020 release date and revealed an eye-catching cover. It features four Jedi - one Wookie, one human female, one human male, and one Twi'lek - with some notable lightsabers in their hands. Check out the cover below:

Just with this cover alone, there are a lot of details for fans to latch onto. Although the names of these characters are not known, it would appear that they are new additions to the ongoing canon - and hopefully don't have any ties to people the franchise has already focused on. Many are sure to notice the new/original Jedi robes that they are wearing, as well as the sky base floating behind them. This could even be the space station recently referenced in canon material that was used by the Jedi to help guide people in the Outer Rim.

Of course, the lightsabers that these Jedi in particular have are worth noting too, specifically for the Wookie and Twi'lek. The Wookie has a blue crossguard lightsaber, similar to Rey's lightsaber was yellow at the end of The Rise of Skywalker. As more details on Project Luminous and this novel are revealed, fans will gain a better understanding of how Star Wars' future is shaping up.
