Cal Kestis is set to reprise his role as playable protagonist in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, but the sequel has made a significant time jump from the setting of its predecessor. As a survivor of the Great Jedi Purge that resulted from Order 66, Cal had been in hiding for roughly five years before players were introduced to him on the starship scrapping planet Bracca. Survivor has now been confirmed to take place five additional years after Fallen Order, meaning it's been 10 years since Revenge of the Sith.

Jedi: Survivor's place on the Star Wars timeline will make it roughly concurrent with Obi-Wan Kenobi, the new series about the titular Jedi Master's exploits between Revenge and A New Hope. Details on the plot of Survivor are still very scarce. The lone teaser trailer illuminates very little about the story players can expect, but it does overtly confirm that Cal - and likely the rest of the Stinger Mantis crew - are still actively on the run from the Imperial Inquisition.

Fallen Order never specifies exactly how old its protagonist is, but in an interview with Fallen Order's Clone Wars flashbacks, that would make him roughly 18 during the events of the game. Another five years would mean Cal is about 23 years old in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.

Cal Has Become Notorious In The Empire Since Fallen Order

In the five years since Fallen Order, Cal has attracted the attention of an Imperial Senator, who will likely be a major villain in Jedi: Survivor

The events of Fallen Order were almost guaranteed to escalate Cal on the Inquisitorius' list of priority Jedi to hunt down. Breaching Fortress Inquisitorius and squaring off against Darth Vader himself no doubt caused a ripple through the Empire's ranks, and the Stinger Mantis' escape likely angered Vader. In the five years that precede Survivor, Cal has even gained the attention of the Imperial aristocracy. According to the official Star Wars webpage on Jedi: Survivor, the Pau'an character seen behind a desk on Coruscant in the teaser trailer is an Imperial senator.

Somehow this senator has come into possession of the lightsaber Cal had to build in Fallen Order. It would appear that Cal dropped his weapon in a duel against a dark side , most likely another Inquisitor, but why the Imperial senate would be interested in a Jedi's lightsaber specifically remains unclear. Cal may have escaped Vader once, but he appears to be even further embroiled in the galactic conflict during Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, where five additional years under Cere's tutelage have hopefully left a 23-year-old Cal with a stronger command of the Force.
