Darth Vader, the return everyone was waiting for in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, has not only come back after appearing in Jedi: Fallen Order, but he's come with his very own boss fight and this time there will be more combat and less running away. However, this is a unique one as it is the only boss fight that isn't played as Cal Kesitis, but as Cere Junda.

Unfortunately, while Cal at this point has a variety of Jedi: Survivor's force powers and combat other stances, Cere does not. So this fight is going to rely on everything players have learned up to this point in a good old-fashioned lightsaber fight, which is very fitting for this classic villain's return.

Darth Vader: Rounds One & Two

17

Similar to most late-game bosses, this fight is going to have three rounds to it with each slightly more difficult than the last. The primary method to winning this fight is going to be some pattern memorization as Vader is not a super difficult fight, but he is very persistent in his attacks and unfortunately, Cere only has Jedi: Survivor's single lightsaber combat stance.

The first round is not going to be too difficult as Cere only needs to knock down the first third of his health bar. The key to doing so will be staying on Vader and being relentless with attacks. Don't give him too much distance, but be careful to parry his basic three-swing combo attack.

The second round will be tackling the next third of his health bar. Similar to the first round, Cere needs to parry Vader's attacks and be careful, especially when he begins to glow. The main change going into the second round is going to be the addition of ranged attacks.

Now, Vader will intentionally push Cere away and use the Force to launch balls of flaming materials at her. Of course, the objective here is to dodge them, but the real method is following what was previously suggested and staying on Vader as much as possible. Give him minimal opportunities to use the Force to hit Cere.

If Darth Vader is posing too much of a threat, Jedi: Survivor does allow players to change their difficulty during the game. So if ready to move on from the fight, but having too much trouble, consider this an option.

Vader: Final Round

Now Darth Vader will be on his last leg of health, but don't start getting overconfident, nothing is more frustrating than failing in the final portion of a boss fight. Since Vader is a little more fired up now, literally, he will upgrade his three-swing combo to a five-swing combo and be slightly more aggressive with his attacks.

All the previous information will still apply, but be aware that a lot of his attacks cannot be blocked, so dodging and then countering is going to be the main strategy for this round. Sounds easy enough, but Vader is also going to attempt to Force pull Cere frequently to intentionally set her up for his attacks.

This is more of a grind boss battle than anything as there isn't too much strategy, mainly just a lot of relentless attacking paired with dodging attacks in order to succeed. Unfortunately, even after what feels like a promising fight, Cere is no match for the Sith Lord.

Players also know that despite Darth Vader's appearance in Jedi: Survivor, he cannot die without breaking Star Wars canon. So winning this fight will only mean successfully weakening Vader down to a certain level at which point a cutscene will follow showcasing the ill fate of beloved Star Wars Jedi: Survivor character, Cere Junda.
