While Yoda's long life spans centuries back to before the High Republic era, one Jedi from the Star Wars Legends continuity has him beat in of longevity. Star Wars Legends has a wealth of quality content and endless stories written well before Disney’s takeover of the franchise. In their day, these stories provided a rich flavor to the lore of Star Wars and often created characters who outshone many of the original Star Wars regulars. Perhaps the most interesting of Legends' additions to the franchise is the 4,000-year-old Jedi, Celeste Morne.
The 12-part crossover Star Wars:Vector, published in 2008 by Dark Horse Comics, introduces an Old Republic-era Jedi named Celeste Morne, who serves as an agent (or Shadow) for the secretive organization known as the Jedi Covenant. The Covenant, whose mission is to track down and recover Sith artifacts lost during the Old Sith Wars, tasks Morne with finding the Talisman of Muur, a powerful relic that can turn its victims into monstrous drones.

An Ancient Sith Relic Threatens the Destruction of the Old Republic
The Talisman of Karness Muur Sparks the Beginning of the End
When Morne arrives at the target planet Taris, she quickly discovers that parts of the planet’s ecumenopolis have been overrun by invading Mandalorians and violent zombie-like monsters. These monsters, known as rakghouls, are the product of the very Sith artifact that Morne has been tasked with recovering. The Jedi Covenant Shadow soon runs into Zayne Carrick, the supposedly murderous Padawan, who leaps into action to help her against the growing hordes of rakghouls. Together, the two Jedi track down the source of the monsters to a hidden lair occupied by Mandalorian Neo-Crusaders.
The pair successfully fend off the Mandalorians and seize the Amulet of Muur. Upon , the amulet binds itself to Celeste and reveals that it is possessed by the lingering spirit of its Sith creator, Karness Muur. Muur’s corrupting influence proves to be overwhelming for the Jedi, and Morne offers to seal herself inside a stasis chamber so that the artifact may be contained and the Jedi Covenant can study the relic in safety. Just as soon as the stasis chamber is sealed, a Mandalorian warship fires a barrage of nuclear warheads at the planet, burying Celeste and Karness underground.

Old and Weary, the Lost Jedi Can Finally Rest
Celeste Morne and Karness Muur’s Journey Finally Comes to an End
The battle leaves Morne completely drained of her remaining life force. Feeling the strength of Muur’s influence begin to exert its control more and more, the former Jedi Covenant Shadow turns to Cade Skywalker for a peaceful end. Morne believes that Cade, who is balanced in both the light and dark sides of the force, will be able to assume her charge and lock away the Sith Lord’s power for good. Skywalker agrees and, at her final request, plunges his lightsaber into Morne’s chest, killing her and destroying the Talisman together.
Celeste Morne isn’t just a relic of her time, but a relic of Star Wars as a whole. With the Legends material no longer considered canon, the fan-favorite stories of the past only serve as an archive of what once was. Burdened with a horrific responsibility, Morne was made to endure 3,000 more years of tortuous existence than the ancient Jedi Master Yoda, once considered to be the oldest living Jedi. While her story may be forever lost to Disney tampering with Star Wars continuity, the Jedi Celeste Morne’s climactic victory over an insidious Sith Empire will remain a worthy legend.
