Summary
- Planets rich in the Force, called vergences, can be light, dark, or neutral; Jedi and Sith harness their power.
- Powerful vergences conceal s and hold dark secrets, like Ahch-To's dark side chamber, or Ambria's Sith history.
- The Force vergences on planets like Mustafar, Dagobah, and Ilum have unique histories that influenced the galaxy's fate.
Star Wars has introduced several planets that are rich in the Force - and here is a guide to every one of them revealed to date. There are some worlds that are called "vergences" in the Force - planets that serve as nexuses of power. Some are rich in the light side of the Force, some in the dark side, and others appear neutral. Over the millennia, Force sects like the Jedi and Sith have learned to harness the power of these vergences.
Many vergences are small, created by the actions of powerful Jedi and Sith, and both light and dark side s have been able to conceal themselves by using a vergence. The most powerful Force vergences occur on worlds rich in the Force, developing for reasons even the Jedi have been unable to discern. This is every world whose Force power has been explored in Star Wars canon - whether in the movies or TV shows, in the books or the canon roleplaying game.

Star Wars Movies In Order: How To Watch Release Order, Chronologically & With The TV Shows
What's the best way to watch Star Wars? Here's everything you need to know to watch in release or timeline order, and how to include the TV shows.
Ahch-To
Star Wars: The Last Jedi
Location |
|
---|---|
Alignment |
Light side, but with a dark side vergence too |
Featured prominently in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Ahch-To is the home of the first Jedi Temple. It has many names in ancient legends, but its existence has been erased from most star charts, with the Jedi presumably keen to avoid its power being exploited. The Emperor appears to have attempted to search it out - Luke Skywalker discovered it using a com he took from one of Palpatine's strongholds - but it has nevertheless remained untainted by the Sith.
That isn't to suggest Ahch-To is principally devoted to the light side; the early Jedi were servants of balance, embodying the harmony of the light side and the dark. During her time on Ahch-To Rey discovered a mysterious cavern tainted with the dark side, and Luke was shaken when she didn't even try to resist its siren song. James Mangold's Jedo origin movie will hopefully reveal more of Ahch-To's ancient history.

Aleen
Star Wars: The Clone Wars
Location |
The Bright Jewel Sector in the Mid Rim |
---|---|
Alignment |
Light side |
A secluded world, Aleen appears to be a light side equivalent to Dathomir - complete with a race of beings who have found a way to tap into the Force. Star Wars: The Clone Wars introduced one of their number, Orphne, whose use of the Force was as unusual as that of the Nightsisters of Dathomir. Aleen was once site of a Jedi chapter house, although it was abandoned for unknown reasons.
Ambria
Star Wars: The Helmet Collection #2
Location |
Inner Rim |
---|---|
Alignment |
Dark side |
In Star Wars Legends, Ambria - an unpleasant desert world in the Inner Rim that's oddly in tune with the dark side of the Force - was site of the final battle between Darth Bane, founder of the Sith Rule of Two, and his apprentice Darth Zannah. Surprisigly, Ambria is canonized in Star Wars: The Helmet Collection #2, which reveals there are rumors in canon that the same is true. Hopefully Ambria's real story will one day be told.
Auratera
Star Wars: Force & Destiny - Nexus of Power
Location |
The Vorzyd sector of the Outer Rim Territories |
---|---|
Alignment |
Light side |
The planet Auratera was contested by the Jedi and the Sith for millennia, because it contained a light side vergence so powerful only experts in the Force could safely visit it. The so-called Acablas vergence is surrounded by Jedi and Sith monuments and ruins. Records of Auratera were purposefully erased by the Ithorian Jedi Master Nareen Cale after the death of Darth Bane a thousand years ago, and the Jedi safeguarded its secret until the Clone Wars. Auratera's inhabitants subsequently tried to erase evidence of their world's history, fearing the interest of the Empire.
Bardotta
Star Wars: The Clone Wars
Location |
Shasos sector of the Colonies |
---|---|
Alignment |
Dark side |
Briefly seen in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, at that time Bardotta was ruled by Queen Julia - Jar Jar Binks' surprising lover. The planet appears to have a long, dark history, and the Nightsisters of Dathomir attempted to unlock its secrets to awaken a monstrous demon known as the Malmourral. The Dagoyan Masters, a different kind of Force s who only ively interact with the Force, attempt to maintain the balance at Bardotta.
Brendok
The Acolyte
Location |
The Outer Rim |
---|---|
Alignment |
Unclear |
Introduced in The Acolyte, Brendok was ravaged by a hyperspace disaster some 200 years before the Skywalker saga. The planet recovered at a phenomenal rate, leading the Jedi to believe it had to be home to a Force vergence, and they sent scouts there to try to track it down. The expedition to Brendok discovered another Force cult, a coven of witches, who had made Brendok their home.
The witches of Brendok seem to have used the Force vergence there for two purposes. Firstly, it helped them remain hidden from the Jedi; there's abundant evidence both Jedi and Sith used vergences to hide from one another, and the witches clearly did the same. More importantly, though, Mother Aniseya apparently tapped into the power of the Brendok vergence to manipulate the Midi-chlorians, creating Osha and Mae.

The Acolyte: What Happened On Brendok Explained
The Acolyte finally revisited the tragic night on Brendok from 16 years earlier, but its explosive truth wasn't as clear as it could have been.
Coruscant
Location |
Core |
---|---|
Alignment |
Dark side |
The ecumenopolis that is Coruscant actually appears to be strong in the Force, probably because of the sheer number of beings who have lived on its surface. The power of the Force is centered upon an ancient vergence that was claimed by the Sith millennia ago, and became a shrine to their power. The Jedi claimed the vergence after the Sith had been driven back from Coruscant, and built the Jedi Temple of Coruscant atop the shrine.
Claudia Gray's novel Into The Dark reveals the Jedi of the High Republic Era had learned to perform a Force ritual that allowed them to purify dark side relics using the vergence. By the time of the prequels, the Jedi had ceased to do this, and instead locked the shrine away. No doubt Palpatine used it for his own sinister purposes.
Dagobah
The Empire Strikes Back
Location |
Outer Rim Territories |
---|---|
Alignment |
Light side, but with a dark side vergence |
Dagobah is one of the most powerful vergences of the Force seen in the Star Wars saga. Its verdant swamps contain so much life that the Living Force is stronger on Dagobah than almost anywhere else in the galaxy, and indeed some Force-sensitives find themselves overwhelmed when they set foot on the planet. Qui-Gon Jinn drew Master Yoda to Dagobah to begin his training to live on after death in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and he found himself caught up in a wellspring of the Living Force. He returned to Dagobah during his exile, continuing his training there.
One of the most sinister features on Dagobah is a cave that is steeped in the dark side of the Force. Luke Skywalker entered the cave in The Empire Strikes Back, where he saw a vision of himself as Darth Vader. Years later, Supreme Leader Snoke took Kylo Ren to Dagobah as part of his own training, and Kylo Ren destroyed the cave in a fit of rage.
Dathomir
Location |
The Quelli sector of the Outer Rim Territories |
---|---|
Alignment |
Dark side |
Nightsisters of Dathomir. The dark side manifests in an unusual form on Dathomir, and it is tied to the resurrection magick of the Nightsisters, whose powers have long been coveted by the Sith. The Emperor attempted to commit genocide against the Nightsisters, but Ahsoka revealed he had failed; it saw three new Nightsister Great Mothers return to Dathomir from the distant planet Peridea, and most viewers expect them to resurrect their race.

Ahsoka Ending Explained In Full
The Ahsoka finale brings the story to a triumphant close, with subtle reveals that promise great things for Anakin Skywalker's Padawan and Thrawn.
Devaron
Star Wars: The Clone Wars
Location |
The Devaron sector of the Colonies |
---|---|
Alignment |
Light side |
The forested world of Devaron - homeworld of the well-established Devaronian race - is site of a powerful light side vergence. The Jedi Temple of Eedit was built around this vergence, deep in the jungle, and it became a place for learning and meditation. It was destroyed during the Clone Wars.
