Star Wars movies and TV shows, though.
In Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Leia used the Force to pull herself back onto her ship after she had been shot into space—something that audiences largely pushed back against. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker took Leia's Force sensitivity considerably further, not only with Leia having trained Rey as a Jedi between The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker, but also with Luke himself revealing to Rey that he had trained Leia years ago. However, Leia's Jedi training ended because of a Force vision, and, sadly, this vision ultimately came true.
Leia Predicted Her Son's Death
Leia Saw Ben's Death At The End Of Her Jedi Path, So She Abandoned The Path... For A Time
As mentioned, The Rise of Skywalker revealed that Leia had trained with Luke Skywalker to become a Jedi. In fact, it wasn't until the last night of her training that Leia decided to walk away. In The Rise of Skywalker, Luke told Rey that Leia made this difficult choice because she'd had a Force vision that her son would die if she became a Jedi.

Star Wars Has Just Totally Convinced Me Leia Would've Been A Better Jedi Than Luke
This brand-new Star Wars story has just convinced me that Leia Organa possessed traits that could have made her a better Jedi than Luke Skywalker.
Force visions have been one of the Force powers in Star Wars since the original trilogy, although typically, Star Wars movies and shows have shown bits of these visions on screen. This was true when Luke saw his own head in Darth Vader's helmet in The Empire Strikes Back, when Anakin had nightmares about Pé dying in Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, and when Ahsoka Tano was getting visions of the bounty hunter Aurra Sing assassinating Pé in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
This wasn't the case with Leia's visions before she abandoned her Jedi path, perhaps because of the limitations The Rise of Skywalker was facing following the tragic and unexpected ing of Princess Leia actor Carrie Fisher. All that was revealed was what Luke relayed to Rey: Leia had abandoned the path of a Jedi because she envisioned her son's death at the end of that path. Sadly, even after she walked away, this Force vision ended up coming true in a way that made it so much more tragic.
Leia had abandoned the path of a Jedi because she envisioned her son's death at the end of that path.
Leia Becoming A Jedi Did Lead To Her Son's Death After All
These Events Happened Just As Leia Predicted But Later Than She Expected
Although Leia abandoned her Jedi path to save her son, Ben did end up dying in The Rise of Skywalker, and it was in fact a result of Leia becoming a Jedi. Based on Leia's age in the flashback training sequence in The Rise of Skywalker, Leia completed her Jedi training long before Star Wars: The Force Awakens, as she looks quite young during these scenes. Presumably, she believed these visions had been resolved when she left this Jedi training behind her.
Devastatingly, the sequence of events leading up to and throughout The Rise of Skywalker was directly linked to Leia becoming a Jedi, and they contributed to Ben's death. Quite a bit happened between The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker that hasn't ever been shown on screen, including, evidently, Leia embracing the path of a Jedi once more and becoming Rey's Jedi Master. Leia had therefore become a Jedi after all, and, just as she had seen in her visions, this ended with her son's death.
The sequence of events leading up to and throughout The Rise of Skywalker was directly linked to Leia becoming a Jedi, and they contributed to Ben's death.
This works on two levels. On the one hand, this was the precise series of events Leia foresaw; she completed her path to becoming a Jedi, and not long after, her son died. On the other, this wasn't a coincidence—Ben died as a direct result of Leia becoming a full-fledged Jedi. Rey was Leia's Jedi apprentice, and Leia had taught her all she needed to know to confront Palpatine. In the end, it was this situation that led Ben to give his life for Rey. To put it bluntly: Ben Solo died to save Leia's apprentice.

Star Wars' "Disaster Lineage" Explained: From Grandmaster Yoda To The Mandalorian Jedi Sabine Wren
One Star Wars master and apprentice lineage has dominated the franchise, yet with that Jedi lineage came some of the biggest threats to the galaxy.
What Is Star Wars' Stance On Force Visions?
The Answer To This Question Seems More Complicated All The Time
The Star Wars timeline has increasingly explored how Force visions work and what their implications are, and Leia's Force visions about Ben dying are a fascinating addition to this history. At times, Star Wars has been rather contradictory about Force visions. With Anakin's nightmares in the prequel trilogy, Yoda warned him about how dangerous trusting his visions could be, and Revenge of the Sith made it quite clear that Yoda wasn't wrong. Yet, there have now been many examples of Force visions coming true and even cases where characters, like Ahsoka, were able to save others with their visions.
There have now been many examples of Force visions coming true and even cases where characters, like Ahsoka, were able to save others with their visions.
It will be interesting to see how Force visions continue to play a role in Star Wars movies and shows moving forward. Particularly with Star Wars projects that are going to be heavily focused on Force s, such as Ahsoka season 2, they will surely continue to be important. In the meantime, it's heartbreaking to realize that Princess Leia Organa's worst Force vision did come true in Star Wars, and it tragically spelled the death of her son.
