One such set of stories has been outlined by io9, with a trilogy of novels set to explore the earliest days of the Galactic Empire. These novels, collectively titled Reign of the Empire, will detail the rise of the resistance against the Empire from the perspectives of some familiar Star Wars characters. One of the details revealed about the Reign of the Empire series is that it will begin almost immediately after Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith. This places it alongside Star Wars stories like Star Wars: The Bad Batch, only instead, Reign of the Empire: The Mask of Fear will likely delve into the onset of the Empire with a much stronger political focus. The book will explore the early days of the Empire's reign from the eyes of the eventual architects of its downfall.
