Alec Guinness was an important figure in the world of Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi in the original Star Wars trilogy spanning from 1977 to 1983.

The Rise of Skywalker marked the end of the epic saga so it was no surprise to learn the film was full of special cameos. Star Wars vets, Denis Lawson and Warwick Davis reprised their past roles as Wedge Antilles and Wicket W. Warrick, respectively. Screenwriter Chris Terrio portrayed the son of iral Ackbar whereas legendary composer The Force Awakens.

As part of the digital release for The Rise of Skywalker and Blu-ray later this month, fans are getting a look into some of the special features. Included is a brand new feature-length documentary, The Skywalker Legacy, which takes viewers behind the scenes of J.J. Abrams' movie. There are a number of intriguing details uncovered in the documentary, a few of which centered on special cameos. Abrams himself confirmed that Alec's adult granddaughter, Sally, played a minor role in the final chapter of the Skywalker Saga, but she wasn't on the good side of the war against the Resistance and First Order.

To honor one of the biggest stars from the original trilogy, Abrams invited Sally to make a brief appearance in The Rise of Skywalker. She carried on the Guinness family legacy by playing a First Order officer and could be seen during a scene that took place in a board room. Her brief appearance wasn't her first stint in acting, however. Sally has previously worked on Marcella, Black Mirror, and Shallow Grave.

The Guinness family, in fact, is full of actors so it was meaningful that the end of the Skywalker Saga included a member of the family as a sendoff to Alec's legacy. Despite the fact that Disney+ series and who knows, maybe Sally will land another cameo in the show to further continue the Guinness legacy within Star Wars.
