Undoubtedly the most controversial piece of mainstream Star Wars media, the sequel trilogy produced by Disney in the new era of the franchise with an entirely new canon has its fair share of haters as well as huge fans, with the latter likely to increase as the years go on akin to the prequel trilogy. Despite having its flaws, the films introduced some fantastic characters to the vast lore.

A lot of these characters are adored by audiences, even with up and down arcs, and most have their fair share of great quotes. Some of the most well-ed quotes from characters include their first and last lines of the trilogy.

C-3PO

C-3PO tells R2-D2 that he is his best friend in The Rise of Skywalker

A constant throughout the Star Wars franchise, C-3PO did not have a massive role in the sequel trilogy but still had some great lines and far more of a role than R2-D2. His first line of the trilogy is a typical one "Goodness! Han Solo!"

As for his last words, they were very fitting. At the conclusion of The Rise Of Skywalker, Threepio repeats the very first line ever spoken in Star Wars, which was from him in A New Hope "Did you hear that?"

Rose Tico

Rose Tico at a Resistance briefing on Ajan Kloss in The Rise of Skywalker

Rose Tico was the source of much criticism and toxicity, debuting in The Last Jedi and being part of what is undoubtedly the weakest story of that film, with her first line to Finn being "What are you doing here?"

In The Rise Of Skywalker, Rose is very much shoved to the side, much to the annoyance of many fans who feel like it catered to the toxicity from The Last Jedi. In of a final line, Rose's was a joyful "Chewie!" as the pair hug during the celebrations.

General Armitage Hux

General Hux delivers a speech to the First Order before the Hosnian Catyclysm in Star Wars The Force Awakens

General Armitage Hux had a bit of an inconsistent tone throughout the sequels and was wasted at times, yet was still a significant part of the movies; all kicked off with his first line, "Well then. If it's on Jakku we'll soon have it." talking about the map to Luke.

Hux managed to survive to The Rise Of Skywalker but never made it out, killed after getting found out to be the Resistance spy, fueled by his hatred for Kylo Ren. Before his death, his final line was, "It was a coordinated incursion, Allegiant General. They overpowered the guards and forced me to take them to their ship."

Supreme Leader Snoke

Speaking of villains who fans feel had wasted potential, Supreme Leader Snoke is still a contentious character, with some happy he died when he did and others feeling like he had more to offer. His first line in The Force Awakens is to Kylo and Hux, "The droid [BB-8] will soon be delivered to the Resistance."

Snoke never made it to the end of the trilogy, while his voice was heard in The Rise Of Skywalker through Palpatine, his last line as an alive character was in The Last Jedi before Kylo killed him "And now, foolish child, he ignites it, and kills his true enemy!"

Han Solo

Han Solo in The Force Awakens

Han Solo is only a part of two movies of the sequels, and only truly prominent in one, but is still crucial to the stories of the characters involved, with his first line of the trilogy being the iconic "Chewie, we're home."

Most fans expected Harrison Ford and Han Solo to be done with the sequel trilogy after his death in The Force Awakens. However, he returned for a scene in The Rise Of Skywalker, a scene with his son, which was an incredible highlight, making his final line in all of Star Wars to this point a fitting one, to his son, "I know."

Leia Organa

General Organa in the Star Wars Sequels

General Leia Organa is more prominent in the trilogy overall, having a role in all three movies, kicking off in The Force Awakens when she is reunited with Han, and her first words to him are "Same jacket." in response to his "You changed your hair." comment.

Leia did make it to The Rise Of Skywalker despite the heartbreaking ing of the legendary Carrie Fisher, with technology and unused footage aiding in giving her a final send-off where her final line was a call out to her son as she takes her last breath, "Ben."

Luke Skywalker

Luke Skywalker in Star Wars The Last Jedi

With only a brief appearance in The Force Awakens, the legendary Luke Skywalker spoke his first line of dialogue in The Last Jedi, kicking off one of the most controversial character arcs Star Wars will ever see, "Go away."

Rounding out the deaths of the original trilogy heroes is Luke Skywalker, who ed in The Last Jedi but who returned as a Force Spirit in The Rise Of Skywalker to impart wisdom on Rey. His final words come off-screen as the Jedi all speak to Rey, with Luke giving the final "Rey, the Force will be with you, always."

Poe Dameron

Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron in Star Wars The Force Awakens

Poe Dameron was a character hurt due to a lack of planning, falling victim to it on multiple occasions, despite having some phenomenal moments and being a highlight of The Force Awakens where his first line is "Well, because of you, now we have a chance." talking to Lor San Tekka.

Poe's final line comes as the heroes leave Exegol, and it is a simple "We did it." This comes before everyone gets back to Ajan Kloss to embrace and celebrate, a sequence where there are few lines of dialogue audiences get to hear.

Finn

Finn in The Force Awakens

Finn is another character fans feel got cheated in many ways throughout the films, carried by John Boyega's talent and charisma similar to Oscar Isaac. Like Poe, Finn was great in The Force Awakens, opening his dialogue with "Yes, Captain." in his last moments as a stormtrooper.

Like most characters, Finn gets no dialogue during the celebrations, just emotional moments of relief and victory. His final line goes hand-in-hand with Poe's, saying, "Poe, we did it." leading into Poe's reply and final line.

Kylo Ren

Kylo Ren aims his red lightsaber in The Last Jedi.

Probably the most consistently great character of the trilogy was Kylo Ren, who was played incredibly by Adam Driver and who debuted in The Force Awakens with "Look how old you've become." before striking down Lor San Tekka.

Technically, Kylo Ren/Ben Solo's last words are "Ow!" as he arrives on Exegol. However, as Kylo Ren, as someone on the Dark Side of the Force, his last words was "I know what I have to do, but I don't know if I have the strength to do it." and "Dad." before letting go of his hate and becoming Ben Solo once more.
