20 years ago, in Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, Hayden Christensen's Anakin Skywalker's Star Wars timeline forever changed Star Wars. In fact, while Luke Skywalker was the clear main character in the original Star Wars trilogy, it's arguably Anakin/Darth Vader who has most defined the franchise from the very beginning.

In addition to roles like Star Wars' most powerful Sith, though, Anakin also shaped Star Wars in more unexpected ways. Namely, in Revenge of the Sith, Anakin Skywalker began a shocking precedent of Star Wars thirst traps with his shirtless nightmare scene. It's worth noting that Luke also had a shirtless scene in the original trilogy, but it wasn't a thirst trap in the way Anakin's was. Since then, these 7 Star Wars characters have followed in Anakin's footsteps with live-action thirst trap scenes of their own.

7 Kylo Ren

Shirtless Scene Appeared in: Star Wars: The Last Jedi

One of the most well-known shirtless scenes in Star Wars following Anakin Skywalker's is Kylo Ren's in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Evidently, like grandfather, like grandson, as Kylo Ren stands shirtless during one of the Force bonds he and Rey experience through their Dyad in the Force. This moment was memed to high heaven, and it's an image that continues to circulate on the internet even now, nearly 10 years later.

While it was a joke for some, though, it was a serious thirst trap for others. In fact, it was arguably this scene that established Kylo Ren as one of Star Wars' biggest heartthrobs. Like Anakin, this scene was therefore seemingly an intentional move by Star Wars to integrate such a thirst trap, continuing this surprising trend.

6 Han Solo

Shirtless Scene Appeared in: Solo: A Star Wars Story

In one blink-and-you-miss-it moment, Alden Ehrenreich's Han Solo also had a shirtless scene in Solo: A Star Wars Story. ittedly, this scene is a bit different from Anakin Skywalker's and Kylo Ren's, given his shirtless scene really only shows Han from just below the shoulders and up. However, there's a case to be made for this scene being even more of a thirst trap than the aforementioned two, as this scene shows Han in the shower and first lingers on a shot of his legs in the shower.

It's a bit surprising that this scene happens with Alden Ehrenreich and not Harrison Ford, because Ford was immediately seen as the heartthrob of the original trilogy. Again, though, it wasn't really until Revenge of the Sith that shirtless scenes as thirst traps were used. In that sense, it's easy to understand why such a scene came relatively late in Han Solo's time in Star Wars.

5 Boba Fett

Shirtless Scene Appeared in: Obi-Wan Kenobi

Boba Fett surprisingly has a few shirtless moments in The Book of Boba Fett, although one in particular qualifies as a thirst trap. It's a bit funny to think of Boba Fett as a character with a thirst trap scene, not because of anything to do with his physical appearance but just due to the role he's played in Star Wars. For one, Boba Fett's face was entirely concealed for most of his early appearances, which makes this a huge jump.

For another, though, Boba Fett was far from a character who would have any romantic ties. He was primarily seen as a bounty hunter, and aside from being seen as ruthless and skilled, he didn't have a clearly defined personality. In fairness, though, few could have predicted in the 70s and 80s that Darth Vader would go on to have a shirtless thirst trap scene in the not-so-distant future as well.

4 Obi-Wan Kenobi

Shirtless Scene Appeared in: Obi-Wan Kenobi

Although Ewan McGregor's Obi-Wan Kenobi had no shirtless scenes throughout the Star Wars prequel trilogy, his most recent return to the Star Wars timeline did include one. In Obi-Wan Kenobi, following his first face-off with Darth Vader in the show, Obi-Wan ends up in a bacta tank to heal from his injuries and burns sustained during Vader's sadistic attack. Like Han Solo's in Solo, this scene isn't as overtly a first trap as Anakin Skywalker's and Kylo Ren's were.

However, what makes this scene unequivocally a thirst trap in Obi-Wan Kenobi is the simple fact that this is Ewan McGregor. While Obi-Wan may have served as the more reserved Jedi as Anakin's Jedi Master, there's little doubt that he's among the characters most considered a heartthrob in Star Wars. There's also the not entirely irrelevant fact that some of Ewan McGregor's best movies include some similar scenes.

3 Arvel Skeen

Shirtless Scene Appeared in: Andor

Although almost all the shirtless thirst traps in Star Wars have been from leading characters, that isn't universally the case. Specifically, Arvel Skeen had a shirtless scene in Andor season 1. Skeen was a complex character in Andor, to say the least, which is true of many characters in that show. In Skeen's case, he seemed to be a loyal member of Vel's team and a dedicated rebel fighter.

In the end, though, he was revealed to be incredibly selfish, in it only for himself. That doesn't ultimately undermine his thirst trap scene in Andor, however, and it's clear that this was Star Wars' intention for the character. This was a particularly interesting choice given Skeen wasn't exactly a main character in the show, which just goes to show how common this trend has become in the franchise in general.

2 Cassian Andor

Shirtless Scene Appeared in: Andor

The most recent shirtless thirst trap came from the titular character of Andor, Cassian Andor himself. In Andor season 2, Cassian's role as a heartthrob arguably ramped up considerably from both Andor season 1 and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, although there was always an element of that to his character—and he'd actually had some shirtless moments in Andor season 1. In the penultimate three-episode arc of Andor season 2 in particular, though, Cassian's relationship with Bix was front and center, and it led to his even more prominent shirtless thirst trap scene.

In Andor season 2, Cassian's role as a heartthrob ramped up considerably from both Andor season 1 and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

This was kicked off by a scene in which Cassian was shirtless, and he and Bix shared a kiss. To be frank, this is right up there with Anakin's shirtless scene in Revenge of the Sith in of how clearly Star Wars intended this to be a thirst trap. After all, unlike his shirtless scene in season 1, this was a moment shared between Cassian and (somewhat debated within the fanbase) the love of his life, making it so much more intimate.

1 Qimir

Shirtless Scene Appeared in: The Acolyte

Perhaps the single most overt thirst trap in all of Star Wars is Qimir's shirtless scene in The Acolyte. This scene was a true shock, as, prior to it, Qimir had seemed like a heartless and terrifying dark side Force- only. Earlier than that, in fact, Qimir had pretended to be a quirky, even goofy sidekick to Mae, making him seemingly even further from the kind of character who would have a shirtless thirst trap scene. Yet, once he and Osha were isolated on an island, he certainly showed a very different side to himself.

The jury may still be out for some regarding the nature of Kylo Ren and Rey's bond, but this scene in The Acolyte makes the show's position clear.

That entire sequence of events on the island in The Acolyte actually became shockingly romantic, and The Acolyte ending even circled back on it, revealing Qimir and Osha standing side-by-side, holding hands. Seemingly, Star Wars will never follow up on that scene, as The Acolyte was canceled after one season, but Qimir's shirtless scene nevertheless remains one of the franchise's most notable. Clearly, 20 years ago, Anakin Skywalker kicked off a trend of Star Wars shirtless thirst trap scenes that continues today.
