The New Republic Quickly Came To At Attin’s Defense
But Not Nevarro’s
In the Skeleton Crew finale, KB is able to make it outside of At Attin’s barrier and reach out to Kh’ymm to ask for help from the New Republic. Quickly, the New Republic appears with a squadron of X-wings, a pair of B-wings, and a CR90 Corellian Corvette. The New Republic's assistance helped defeat the pirates and drive them off of At Attin. While this works well for the story of Skeleton Crew and shows that there are good people everywhere, it poses the question of why the New Republic didn’t assist Nevarro in The Mandalorian season 3.

The 8 Biggest Theories I Have For Skeleton Crew Season 2 (If It Happens)
There are so many hopes and rumors for Star Wars: Skeleton Crew season 2... and here are the most exciting theories about what could happen!
In The Mandalorian season 3, the pirate Din Djarin and the Mandalorians eventually aided in Nevarro’s defense, it’s interesting that the New Republic would help At Attin, another non-Republic planet, but not Nevarro.
At Attin Is More Valuable To The New Republic Than Nevarro
The Republic Needs At Attin’s Money
While it’d be nice to think that the New Republic only came to At Attin to help protect its people, there are very few things a government would do that aren’t politically motivated. In fact, it’s entirely possible that the New Republic decided to aid At Attin as a show of good faith in hopes they’d sign a New Republic charter and . Because of this, At Attin’s 1139 vaults of credits would be part of the New Republic.

Nevarro Explained: Why The Mandalorian's Planet Is So Important To Star Wars' Future
The planet Nevarro was created for The Mandalorian TV show, and has since developed a story of its own. Here's everything you need to know about it.
It's a harsh reality, but the New Republic likely went to At Attin’s aid because of the potential benefits of having them as one of its planets, whereas Nevarro was largely expendable. If Nevarro had value like At Attin does, it’s likely that Carson Teva and a squadron from Adelphi base would’ve come in and saved the day. In the grand scheme of things, Nevarro is unfortunately an expendable planet, and At Attin could be a huge asset for a government still in its infancy.
At Attin’s Mint Could Be Used For Shady Dealings
No One Has Ever Had Control Over It Before
It was revealed that the Supervisor of At Attin had been a droid this whole time, meaning that no citizen of At Attin had ever had control over the mint before. The Skeleton Crew season finale showed just how in the dark the adults of the planet were when it came to the dealings of the galaxy, meaning that they’d be an easy target for someone looking to take advantage of the planet’s immense wealth. With such an excess of funds, At Attin’s credits could be used for any number of shady dealings.
It’s possible that in the near future, At Attin will be filled with greedy individuals looking to take advantage of the planet, its people, and its resources.
It's unclear what these shady dealings might be, but it could be money laundering to fund Grand iral Thrawn after his recent return in Ahsoka season 1. Alternatively, New Republic officials could simply steal some of the credits housed on At Attin for their own benefit. There is also the issue of pirates, some of whom may return to the planet looking to steal credits. It’s possible that in the near future, At Attin will be filled with greedy individuals looking to take advantage of the planet, its people, and its resources.
Could At Attin’s Credits Fund The First Order?
This Could Explain A Lot About Their Rise to Power
Because of Skeleton Crew’s place in the Star Wars timeline, it’s known that the New Republic will fall to the First Order in about 20 years, meaning that At Attin’s funds could be what funded the First Order. Imperial Shadow Council is active during this time in the Star Wars timeline, and will eventually feed the First Order, it can’t be a coincidence that At Attin is located where it is.
Skeleton Crew has yet to be renewed for season 2.
With major players like Thrawn hiding on Dathomir, At Attin is the perfect place to funnel funds. In the future, At Attin could even act as a planet where the First Order recruits and gets the majority of its funds. While the people of At Attin may not be “bad,” they are naive, and it would only take one First Order spy to turn the planet. In this way, the citizens of At Attin simply wouldn’t know any better and would fall into a deal with the First Order they wouldn’t be able to get out of.
Audiences will have to wait and see what the future holds for At Attin, but it’s clear that they need a strong leader who is logical and will make the best decisions for the entire planet. The ending of Skeleton Crew episode 8 happened on a high note with themes indicating that good things are to come. However, with all the challenges At Attin will undoubtedly face in the future, it’s unclear if their future is as bright as the Skeleton Crew finale made it out to be.
