Skeleton Crew alone reveals the new show's dedication to doing right by Star Wars.

That commitment to the history of the franchise doesn't mean Skeleton Crew is afraid of breaking new ground, though—far from it. Skeleton Crew has introduced a number of characters, concepts, and planets that haven't been seen before in Star Wars. Of those innovations, here's every new planet that has been featured in Skeleton Crew thus far.

At Attin

The Skeleton Crew Kids' Homeworld Is Remarkably Earth-Like

At Attin is jarringly similar to Earth, which comes as a major surprise in the franchise that is famously a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. In Skeleton Crew's first two episodes, viewers largely see the events unfold through Wim's eyes—one of the main characters in Skeleton Crew. Wim seems to live a relatively quiet suburban life with his father following the death of his mother (the cause of which is still unknown), and that setting of the suburbs drives home how Earth-like At Attin really is.

Skeleton Crew episode 3 hinted that Star Wars' new treasure planet, At Attin, is a lot older than we thought. The mystery just got a lot deeper!

Wim's house is set within a neighborhood of similarly designed homes, all of which seem to have driveways and grassy front lawns. Even the layout of the neighborhood is something that hasn't really been seen before in Star Wars. Wim's arc thus far has also suggested that he feels his quiet suburban life is boring, a narrative seen in many shows and movies set in the real world, which is why Wim is so obsessed with adventure. Ultimately, this is precisely what leads to the children being lost in the galaxy.

At Attin is certainly not what they believed it to be.

Wim's fascination with the Jedi and adventure causes him to launch the ship they discover, sending the kids out into Wild Space. However, once there, they learn that At Attin is certainly not what they believed it to be. To Wim and the other Skeleton Crew kids, At Attin seemed like any other planet.

They quickly learn that this is not the perception the rest of the galaxy has, though, as multiple pirates express disbelief that At Attin even exists. To those outside the planet, At Attin is a mysterious myth, described as a lost planet containing eternal treasure. Star Wars has yet to reveal the full truth about At Attin, but surely that is coming in the show's final episode next week.

Nevertheless, the show has already made it clear that there is something rather strange happening on the planet. For one, the planet's mythical status in the galaxy suggests no one comes into or out of At Attin, which adds a bit of a dystopian element to the planet. This is also ed by the children's shock at seeing stars and the seemingly artificial atmosphere of nebular gasses they break through in the ship.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is finally here, with Disney dropping the first two episodes of the series at once.

The dystopian feeling of At Attin was subtly established even before the children left the planet. Wim's experiences at school revealed the controlled (if not controlling) nature of At Attin, including droids running the schools and monitoring the children at all times. The test Wim misses in episode 1 is also one the children take that effectively determines their entire future—something seen in countless dystopian books, shows, and movies, such as The Giver and Divergent.

Whether At Attin really is dystopian in some way remains to be seen. It may simply be that the planet is a bit odd and archaic in its traditions, perhaps because of its mysterious mythological status and supposed treasure. The idea that the planet is stuck in the past would be ed by citizens still using Republic credits. Even so, Skeleton Crew's place in the Star Wars timeline, early in the New Republic Era, makes these questions all the more pressing, as such control is of course reminiscent of the Empire.

Skeleton Crew episode 3 shockingly revealed that the children had no idea about the Galactic Civil War.

Episode 7 confirmed that At Attin does have hidden treasure, which Jod finally gets his hands on. The notion that the inhabitants of the planet are heavily surveilled and controlled was also reinforced by the droids' responses to the parents just trying to get to their kids. In the final episode, it seems Skeleton Crew's mysterious Supervisor character will also be revealed, as there was yet another reference to this figure in episode 7.

Port Borgo

The Pirate Empire Is A Terrifying Place

Port Borgo in Star Wars Skeleton Crew

The second planet shown in Skeleton Crew was a major tonal shift from At Attin. Whereas At Attin felt calm and quiet, Port Borgo was a dark, dangerous, and unpredictable place. After the children realize they are lost, they decide to land at a starport. However, this ends up being arguably even more dangerous than staying on the ship and floating around lost.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew introduced viewers to Bort Porgo, major site in a new pirate empire... and an incredible deep cut into Legends lore!

1

The Skeleton Crew kids quickly find themselves in trouble on Port Borgo, particularly when Wim attempts to use Republic credits to pay for food for himself and Neel. Evidently, Republic credits have become incredibly valuable in the years since the Empire fell, and a massive fight breaks out between pirates who want to take the credits from the children. Simultaneously, Fern and KB are grabbed by a woman who reveals that At Attin is believed to be 'lost,' if not entirely mythological, and she urges them to leave Port Borgo and come up with a better story.

Evidently, Republic credits have become incredibly valuable in the years since the Empire fell.

By the end of episode 2, the children are ready to make their way off Port Borgo. They encounter Jude Law's mysterious character, who offers them a chance to escape the cell in which they've been imprisoned. In episode 3, the group does manage to get back to the kids' ship and leave Port Borgo.

It's unclear how significant a role Port Borgo will play moving forward. With just one episode of Skeleton Crew remaining, it's unlikely Port Borgo will appear again in the show. Now that this planet has been introduced in Star Wars, though, it could mean the planet will return in other Star Wars projects in the future.

The Observatory Moon

Kh'ymm's Planet Had An Air Of Mystery

Skeleton Crew episode 3 introduced yet another new planet, the Observatory Moon planet on which Kh'ymm lives. Jod Na Nawood goes to visit Kh'ymm, believing she will help him locate At Attin. It's clear that Jod has every intention of hunting down the treasure on At Attin and has plenty of selfish motivations for finding the planet rather than purely an interest in seeing the kids home.

Once on the moon, Jod warns the kids that his 'friend,' Kh'ymm, is likely to stab them in the back, which sets up the events that follow. Kh'ymm does indeed go behind Jod Na Nawood's back, calling upon the New Republic to come and arrest Jod. It seems Kh'ymm was genuinely invested in helping the children get home, but it can be difficult to know someone's true intentions in Star Wars. It is also on the Observatory Moon that the kids and Jod learn quite a bit more about At Attin.

Kh'ymm informs the group that At Attin was intentionally hidden from the rest of the galaxy and is considered a Jewel of the Old Republic—all other 'jewels' have evidently been destroyed, other than At Attin. They also learn that their 'Barrier' is really comprised of nebular gasses, which blocks out the true sky, including the stars. In of the Observatory Moon itself, though, little is known.

The Observatory Moon seems to play a very unique role in the galaxy, acting as a repository of information, including, evidently, several of At Attin's secrets.

Kh'ymm seems to be stationed on the planet, and she is clearly in communication with the New Republic. Based on the amount of information she has access to, the Observatory Moon seems to play a very unique role in the galaxy, acting as a repository of information, including, evidently, several of At Attin's secrets. At the end of episode 3, the group has once again re-entered space, raising questions about whether the Observatory Moon will ever be seen again.

At Achrann

Skeleton Crew Episode 4's Planet Was A Bit Uncanny

In Skeleton Crew episode 4, a brand-new planet was introduced, and this one was perhaps the most unsettling in the show so far. At Achrann, a name which is already obviously tied to At Attin, shared an eerie similarity with the kids' home planet. In fact, when the crew first stepped off their ship, it nearly seemed as though they'd landed on At Attin, perhaps far in the future after the planet had met a brutal fate.

The previous belief that the other Jewels of the Old Republic had been destroyed was incorrect.

ittedly, this would have been a thrillingly creepy turn for Skeleton Crew and added to its dystopian nature. The true origin of the planet was different, but it was still tied to At Attin. At Achrann proves that the previous belief that the other Jewels of the Old Republic had been destroyed was incorrect, as it too is among these mysterious planets. Unlike the suburban tranquility (and rigidity) of At Attin, though, At Achrann is a desolate-looking planet, driven to destruction by ceaseless wars.

Star Wars' Shocking New Planet Shows What's Wrong With The Jedi & The Sith: Skeleton Crew's At Achrann Explained

Skeleton Crew just introduced another new planet to the Star Wars galaxy, but the planet’s harsh nature shows what’s wrong with the galaxy.

1

This history of war has horrifyingly led to At Achrann enlisting the children of the planet as child soldiers, as the Skeleton Crew kids learn when they encounter Hayna, a young warrior who has known nothing but war and survival throughout her young life on At Achrann. Ultimately, this leads to a lovely arc between Neel and Hayna, in which each character learns from the other. Hayna learns that comion and peace can be a way forward, and Neel demonstrates incredible bravery towards the end of the episode when SM-33 attacks the kids.

At the very end of episode 4, Jod Na Nawood and the kids have returned to their ship, ready to leave At Achrann. It's unlikely At Achrann will return in Skeleton Crew, as the planet's main purpose seems to have been to confirm that the Jewels of the Old Republic have not all been lost. With just one episode left in Skeleton Crew, it wouldn't make much sense for the planet to have another appearance.

Lanupa

The Beautiful Resort Planet Is Not What It Seems

Skeleton Crew episodes 5 and 6 see Jod and the kids travel to Lanupa, a beautiful planet that seems to serve primarily as a spa resort. Upon arrival, Jod is warned that children are not allowed at the resort, both requiring that Jod disguise the children and confirming that this is genuinely intended as a retreat—even if it is a retreat for some of the most dangerous pirates and bounty hunters in the galaxy. There are also sections of the planet shown to contain hot springs, certainly setting it apart from all that had been shown in Skeleton Crew before.

This beautiful surface of the planet is concealing quite a bit, however. SM-33 explains that the planet has also been known by the names Demon’s Rest and Battle World and that it used to be full of horrors, not a spa. This darker pirate history of the planet is further confirmed when Jod, SM-33, and the kids uncover Captain Tak Rennod's lair, in which they find countless treasures and a mysterious blue-bladed lightsaber. This lair also marks a massive turning point in Skeleton Crew, wherein Jod turns on and threatens the kids.

This lair also marks a massive turning point in Skeleton Crew, wherein Jod turns on and threatens the kids.

Episode 6 picks up from there, revealing that the kids did manage to get away from Jod when they used what seemed to be a trap door in the lair. This episode also gave KB some wonderful character development, which her character had been lacking compared to the other kids. Sadly for Wim, Fern, KB, and Neel, though, this escape from Jod didn't last very long. By episode 7, Jod had managed to commandeer the kids' ship yet again, finally landing on At Attin.

With Jod and the kids now on At Attin and the final episode just around the corner, it remains to be seen whether any other planets will be introduced in Skeleton Crew. Most likely, the conclusion of the show will take place entirely on At Attin, especially with episode 7 suggesting the mysterious Supervisor character is on the way and with Jod now standing before the children and their parents, threatening them with a lightsaber. This very well may be the complete list of brand-new Star Wars planets introduced in Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, but only the finale will tell.

The first seven episodes of Skeleton Crew are now streaming on Disney+.
