Though the reviews are still mixed about Star Wars Squadrons, there is no doubt that it has become an accepted part of the franchise canon. For the players who haven't skipped over the campaign mode for the more popular multiplayer mode, then they have encountered the clever storytelling and memorable characters introduced.

Players have also undoubtedly realized that the story leaves quite a few storylines unresolved. This is annoying, mainly because many of those left open are the most interesting points in the story.

Keo - Jedi Or Not?

Star Wars Squadrons

Please make no mistake about it. Star Wars universe, and therefore there has to be a nod to the ultimate belief in that world.

That nod came in the guise of a non-binary, ex-semi-pro racer who has many piloting skills from Mirial named Keo Venzee. They come from a planet where all are taught about the Force and have a close connection to nature. Though they deny it, Keo is obviously very in tune with the Force. The question remains when the story ends - does Keo learn more and study the ways of the Jedi?

Did Shen Go Full Darth Vader?

Star Wars Squadrons

Shen had a lot of cybernetic enhancements over the course of his career with the Empire. It leaves players to wonder if he continued down this path and, if he did, how far did it go. Did he become the next Darth Vader, more robot than man by the end of it? It seems quite likely that he did.

By the point audiences met him in the game, Shen had been so battered and broken that he had enough enhancements in him to keep him spry enough to fight. He can already survive just about any attack or crash, but did he go to the point where he needs machines for basic life functions?

Any Of These Characters In New Civil War?

Star Wars Squadrons

Many of the characters that are met in Squadrons are of a young enough age that players would expect to see them again in the continuing storyline. Not only would they expect to see them again, they expect them to be veterans with battle experience and an entry to mid-level leadership positions.

There does not seem to be any reason or explanation as to why they would not exist, and perhaps they do but are not prominently featured in the New Civil War that was the focus of the last trilogy of films.

What Are Those Secret Rogue Squadron Missions?

Star Wars Squadrons

There is a great cameo by Wedge Antilles and Rogue Squadron for those lifelong, hardcore Star Wars fans. However, his appearance actually led to a lot of questions. Most of those questions are doomed to remain unanswered.

What were those secret missions that Antilles briefly touched on? Does Rogue Squadron stay together - if they do, are they an integral group in the New Civil War?  If they stay together, does Antilles stay involved as the leader or move up the ranks to help lead the New Republic army? So many more questions than answers from this particular cameo.

Did Varko Grey Follow His Heart Or The Empire?

Star Wars Squadrons

During the parts of the story that follow Varko Grey, it is clear that he is a man of morals who is questioning his allegiance to the First Order. He ed up early in life, and though he may have agreed with parts of their foundations, he has obviously grown more and more disenfranchised with their structure and beliefs.

He also has many external factors that draw him more away from his loyalty and blind allegiance to the First Order. Players are left to wonder if Emory stayed on serving them after the game's events or did he leave them - either by retiring or turning to the New Republic.

What About Vanguard Squadron?

Star Wars Squadrons

This is the squadron that the player-controlled non-named character belongs to. The squadron is under the control of Commander Lindon Javes, and they are top-notch pilots. This is the crew called in for special missions, including high-risk missions from ambushes to rescue.

Vanguard is very involved with Project Starhawk, which was a top-secret, critical project. If they were entrusted with all of these top-secret, life or death missions - what are they doing during the New Civil War? Why are they not prominently featured? Are they still operating but so secret that they are out of the mainstream knowledge?

Did Varko Grey Finally Retire And Move On With Emory?

Star Wars Squadrons

The biggest factor concerning Varko Grey debating if his time serving in any army is done is his husband, Emory.  Grey constantly thinks of his husband, expressing the desire to be with him, safe and sound.  Emory expresses that Grey's missions cause him a lot of anxiety, feeling intense relief every time Varko makes it home.

That knowledge weighs on Varko, and knowing that he once saw the First Order as the only hope to contain the chaos throughout the galaxies, he believes that less and less. Though always possible, he turned to the New Republic; it seems more likely that before the events of the full-on New Civil War, he would have retired to a farm somewhere and lived his life out in happiness with his beloved husband at his side.

It would be nice to know if that ever happened to them.

Did Captain Kerrill Find Out Lindon Javes Survived?

Star Wars Squadrons

The number one burning desire in the character of Captain Kerrill that is shown in the game is not a desire for the Empire to win, nor is it power or ambition. Kerrill wants revenge on the person who abandoned her squadron years before, causing her to fail and be severely punished. That person is Commander Lindon Javes.

Kerrill thinks that she has succeeded in her goal to get the ultimate revenge against her old friend and commander, thinking Javes to have been killed during the assault on Project Starhawk. Did she ever find out she was wrong in that thought? Does she know that he actually survived, and she failed on all levels - again?

Did Titan Squadron Get Punished Or Move Onto The Unknown Regions?

Star Wars Squadrons

Titan Squadron is the Vanguard of the Empire. After they failed in their attempt to completely crush the New Republic in destroying Project Starhawk, what happened to them? Were they punished? It seems likely, knowing the temperament and history of the Empire/the First Order.

The question is probably more likely how severely were they punished? Were all of them punished or just the key of the squadron? Also, what happened to them after that? Were they punished and then put back to work, being sent to the UnKnown Region to reform the First Order? Were they disbanded?

There are so many possibilities, and the audience is left to wonder what became of the squadron.

What Happened To Javes After He Helped Save The People?

Star Wars Squadrons

Players find out that despite appearances, Commander Javes did not die in the attack on Starhawk. He, in fact, survived and helped the people escape, therefore actually ensuring the success of actual Project Starhawk - the people and not the starship. There has been plenty of backlash against this, many seeing it as an unneeded burden on his storyline.

Many feel that he should have been allowed to have that hero's death. It also raised many people's questions about the storyline's point and where his storyline went after this.
