The world of Squid Game.

A major difference between the real Squid Game and this hypothetical scenario is that the characters of Star Wars have a much wider array of skills and abilities at their disposal to use in the contest. So, if the Sith and the Jedi — and all that remains in between the two forces — were to clash in a series of death games, who would reign supreme?

Jar Jar Binks

On paper, few characters in Star Wars are physically equipped to perform well in Squid Game as Jar Jar Binks. His speed and jumping ability would come in handy during the red light, green light, and glass tile games.

That being said, unless the theory that Jar Jar is actually a Sith lord is proven true, he's just far too clumsy to be reasonably expected to win it all. In fact, it’s far more likely that he is the first to be eliminated rather than the last — especially if Qui-Gon Jinn isn’t around to save his neck in each game.

R2-D2 & C3PO

Neither R2-D2 nor C3PO would be capable of surviving through the death games when paired up against their force-sensitive opponents. That being said, they’d certainly make for some of the most entertaining contestants to watch.

It’s easy to imagine the two wandering off and accidentally discovering what’s been happening to the dead contestants, or using the bathroom trick to spy on the next games. Of course, their constant bickering would likely get them into trouble, like when the similarly-hooded Jawas captured the pair on Tatooine.

Darth Vader

Darth Vader, powerful as he is, lacks the speed and dexterity of his early years when he was still referred to by the name Anakin Skywalker. Additionally, his suit and cybernetic implants are a weak spot for other contestants to expose. Just one stray bolt from a blaster or swing from a lightsaber during the blackout attack could inhibit Vader’s ability to breathe and move around in future games.

Even worse, other characters, such as Darth Sidious, may try to manipulate and use Vader as a pawn in the games. Vader has been easily swayed in the past and has a history of rash decision-making. This doesn’t bode well, as just one mistake can end your life in Squid Game.

Han Solo & Chewbacca

In a universe of superhuman lightsaber-wielding warriors, Han Solo and Chewbacca are outclassed here. While neither of the two may be huge physical threats when compared to their competition, they would have the distinct advantage of working together at all costs.

In Squid Game, participants are forced to play with strangers and it can be hard to tell who truly has their best interests in mind. Han and Chewie wouldn’t have to overcome this obstacle and could use their resourcefulness to navigate through the games as a team.

Yoda

Don’t let his perceived old age be deceiving, as Yoda has proven time and time again that he still has the agility necessary to be a worthy combatant. While Yoda's been known to make mistakes in the past, the biggest obstacle in his path to victory is quite simply his will to win.

Yoda is an extremely wise character and is able to overlook his own personal desires for the greater good of those around him and the Jedi Order as a whole. He’d be more concerned with ensuring the sole survivor is on the side of light and would put himself in danger so that a worthy victor would emerge.

Princess Leia

Leia Star Wars A New Hope Prisoner

Despite her small stature, Leia has proven to be capable under stressful situations and had her fair share of memorable moments in Star Wars as an extremely accomplished member of the Rebel Alliance. She shares much in common with Squid Game's Kang Sae-byeok and would be capable of pushing through the physical toll of the games through sheer willpower.

Given that not many people know Leia as a force-sensitive woman, it's likely the other contestants would overlook her (which would be a grave lapse in judgment). Like Jabba the Hutt learned the hard way, ignoring Leia and focusing on the perceived bigger threats is a mistake that could cost someone their life.

Emperor Palpatine

Strangely enough, Emperor Palpatine and Oh Il-Nam have a lot in common as characters. Both have disguised themselves as protagonists and worked to make sure everything that takes place contributes to the good of their specific plans.

While it’s easy to speculate that Il-Nam had an unfair advantage, it did appear that he successfully made it to the marbles game on his own merit. This means Palpatine’s old age shouldn’t obstruct him from winning the games. However, he’d have to make his immense strength known sooner or later and would become an immediate target to take out.

Boba Fett

Many of the assets at Boba Fett’s disposal are practically cheat codes in Squid Game. Tripwires would eliminate many in "Red light, Green light" and his flamethrower would make the dalgona challenge simple. Wrist rockets could take out opponents in "Tug Of War" while his jetpack could immediately skip the glass tile game.

While armed with arguably the most iconic props and tools in Star Wars history to get through the games, Boba would struggle heavily in the social aspect of the competition. He’s lived most of his adult life as a lone wolf and would need friends at his side if he has any hope of beating a Jedi or Sith in the "Squid Game" round.

Luke Skywalker

Luke Skywalker in The Mandalorian.

Luke Skywalker is possibly the greatest Jedi in galactic history and should have a very good chance of coming out on top. He’s an extremely powerful force who is also proficient with the lightsaber, capable of tackling almost any challenge the Squid Game can throw at him.

Unfortunately, Luke’s great power also makes him a ripe target for betrayal in the games. As viewers saw with Kylo Ren’s decision to murder Skywalker’s other pupils, Luke is not immune to the dire consequences that accompany betrayal and it could prove to be his downfall in the game.

Obi-Wan Kenobi

Stephen Stanton as Obi Wan Kenobi in Star Wars Rebels

While not quite on the same power level as the Skywalkers, Obi-Wan Kenobi has always punched above his weight in large part thanks to his defensive style of fighting (known as Soresu). Kenobi’s genius as a general in battle stems from his philosophical approach, often seeing the big picture before his enemies even know the rules of the game.

This would be greatly advantageous in Squid Game, as Kenobi would likely be one of the first to deduce the strategies necessary for each game. Obi-Wan was the type of warrior who would force his opponents to make mistakes, which is perfect in an environment that punishes aggressive players and rewards more patient strategists.
