Quick Links
Although Star Wars' TV shows may be less frequent than they were before, there are still several on the horizon. Since 2012, Disney has evolved the franchise into a trailblazing transmedia franchise of interconnected books, comics, video games, and a stunning range of Disney+ Star Wars' New Republic timeline.
Beyond that, though, other TV shows are set at different points in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars' timeline. Even as the franchise goes back to the big screen, more Star Wars TV shows are on the way, along with new seasons of existing installments in Disney's TV library.

4 Star Wars Visions Presents: The Ninth Jedi
A Spin-Off Of Two Star Wars Visions Episodes
Perhaps the most beloved episode of Star Wars Visions thus far was "The Ninth Jedi" in season 1. This love was so great that the episode's production team, Production IG, came back with a follow-up, set to be released as part of Star Wars Visions season 3 in October 2025. Beyond that, an entire spin-off show was announced at Star Wars Celebration 2025, with Lucasfilm titling the series Star Wars Visions Presents: The Ninth Jedi.
Evidently, the show is expected to tie into the episodes from season 1 and season 3, continuing the story set in the Star Wars world of "The Ninth Jedi." Little else about the show was revealed, though Production IG and director Kenji Kamiyama will spearhead production. While an exact date remains unconfirmed, Star Wars Visions Presents: The Ninth Jedi is set to debut on Disney+ in 2026.

Lucasfilm has confirmed that the story of Ahsoka season 2 is in the works. The final moments of Ahsoka season 1 saw Rosario Dawson's Ahsoka Tano and Natasha Liu Bordizzo's Sabine Wren stranded on the distant planet Peridea, while Lars Mikkelsen's Grand iral Thrawn returned to the main Star Wars galaxy. At Star Wars Celebration 2025, several details about Ahsoka season 2 were provided, stemming from the ending of Ahsoka season 1.

Ahsoka Ending Explained In Full
The Ahsoka finale brings the story to a triumphant close, with subtle reveals that promise great things for Anakin Skywalker's Padawan and Thrawn.
Ahsoka season 2 began filming shortly after the convention in April 2025, with the cast remaining largely the same. The only cast change came in the form of Rory McCann who will take on the role of Baylan Skoll after season 1's actor, Ray Stevenson, sadly ed away. Other updates included the addition of iral Ackbar to the cast of characters as Ahsoka season 2's story will showcase the New Republic facing off against Thrawn in one galaxy, while Ahsoka, Sabine, and Anakin Skywalker confront enemies in another.
2 Maul: Shadow Lord
A New Star Wars Animated Show
Another announcement that was provided at Star Wars Celebration 2025 pertained to Star Wars' animated TV shows. Most animated shows in the franchise are critically acclaimed, especially the likes of Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. In 2026, a new show from this team of animators will be released - Maul: Shadow Lord. Focusing on the titular former Sith, the show will detail Maul's journey as a criminal leader in the reign of the Empire, bridging the gap between his appearances in The Clone Wars and Rebels.
Maul: Shadow Lord will star Sam Witwer as the voice of Maul after his performances in both aforementioned animated shows. Other than the fact that Maul will train an apprentice in the show, potentially hinting that Darth Talon from George Lucas' planned Star Wars sequels is being made canon, little else about the story was divulged. That said, the show is set for release in 2026, making the year even bigger for Star Wars TV than it already was.
1 Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures Season 3
The High Republic Show Returns
The final Star Wars TV show is the third entry of Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures. Set in the franchise's High Republic Era, Young Jedi Adventures follows the training of several younglings when the Order was at its peak. The story of the show is not overly vital due to the show being aimed at younger viewers, yet fans of the High Republic will find a lot to like, especially with some events tying into big moments from the books and novels of the era.
Young Jedi Adventures season 3 was confirmed shortly after season 2 aired in the latter half of 2024 and the first half of 2025. Since then, a release date has been confirmed for Fall 2025, though the exact date remains unknown. This marks the next of Star Wars' TV shows before the turn of the year marks an important 2026 for both the animated and live-action sides of the franchise.
