Lucasfilm has officially confirmed best Star Wars TV shows ever released. The stories are unrestrained by canon and continuity, with animation studios from around the world welcomed in to reinterpret the Skywalker saga and do something fresh and new. It's both popular and critically acclaimed, and it tends to release on Star Wars Day every two years.

At the 2024 Disney APAC Content Showcase, Lucasfilm officially confirmed that Star Wars Visions season 3 will release in 2025.

Visions season 3 will run for nine episodes, featuring the following Japanese animation houses:

There's nothing like Star Wars Visions, a TV show allowing animation houses from around the world the chance to play in George Lucas' sandbox and do their own thing. Visions season 3 returns to Japan, featuring only Japanese animation houses, and viewers will be particularly excited to see Polygon Pictures and Production IG in this auspicious list. Polygon was involved in some of the most-loved episodes of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, while Production IG's "The Ninth Jedi" is one of the most-loved episodes to date, even adapted into a manga. There's already speculation this episode will be a sequel.

Our Take On Star Wars Visions Season 3

In truth, we never had any doubts that Star Wars Visions season 3 would release in 2025 - Lucasfilm has slipped into a pattern of bi-annual releases for this show, alternating with the equally popular (but actually canonical) "Tales" series. This will most likely come out on Star Wars Day 2025, continuing the pattern. It's the perfect way to celebrate Star Wars, and we couldn't be more excited at this thrilling line-up of animation houses.
