After meeting BB-8 and then Finn, her life changes for the better as she leaves the rock, she may want to go back to Jakku, but getting captured by Kylo and then the series of events following make sure she does not.

As mentioned, Rey wanted to go back to Jakku due to wanting to wait for her parents, a venture that would have left her living a pointless life on the planet.

But after getting captured, the death of Han, and escaping to the Resistance base, she ed the organization. She became part of something bigger, with a purpose, with real life.

Rey's parentage was the source of an insane amount of theories and speculation for years within the fandom, finally seemingly getting confirmed in The Rise Of Skywalker.

While her parents being no one is the far better piece of writing and best for the character and narrative, at least when she finds out about her parent's fate and who her father was, she has that knowledge and can make peace with it, which she does.

For three films, Rey wielded the most important lightsaber in the Galaxy, that of Anakin Skywalker, and later his son Luke, and she used it well for a long time.

However, at the end of The Rise Of Skywalker, after burying the two lightsabers of Luke and Leia, Rey showed fans her new blade, a gorgeous yellow one, fitting for her personality, with a unique and visible ignition.

For a long time, many fans speculated that the Jedi would be no more, that a new order of gray Jedi or 'Skywalker's' would be born and be guardians and peace in the Galaxy.

However, it seems clear through the three films of her trilogy, she is a true Jedi, and will build a new order in the future. Training with Luke and Leia, and growing in the Force has led Rey to become a Jedi who will learn from the order's past mistakes, and try to be better, Rey went from a mere scavenger to a skilled Jedi.

Time On Ach-To

A huge turning point in Rey's life, coming so soon after she departs from Jakku, was her arrival on Ach-To to train with Luke Skywalker, and while it did not go the way she planned, she learned an incredible amount.

Being with Luke deterred Rey's insane expectations and ideals, and allowed Rey to see the past mistakes of Jedi, and the consequences of them. On top of that, it allowed her to take the Sacred Texts, revealing to her Force abilities that saved her life and that of the Galaxy from Sidious. Even her second trip to Ach-To taught her a lot, including to find peace with who she is.

Going back to what Rey learned in the Sacred Texts, each time fans get a new look at Rey, her skills have improved as she trains more and more in both lightsaber combat and Force power.

She has a natural raw talent in on her by Leia, and by the end of the trilogy Rey is a refined warrior, still with a lot to learn, but enough power to hold her own.

Bond With Kylo Ren

One of the consistent highlights of the sequel trilogy was the interactions between Rey and Kylo Ren. The performers were incredible in every scene they shared, and the character's electric chemistry shone through to fans.

While her bond with Kylo may ave initially seemed unfortunate, this relationship enriched Rey's life a lot, showing her not only a varying perspective but an insight to the good that remained within Kylo, allowing him to get redeemed eventually.

Found Family

Family is one of the most prominent and significant themes throughout the forty-plus year history of Star Wars. In the sequel trilogy, it is clear as day, seen in particular through the character of Rey.

Alone on Jakku, desperate for her family but also for a life of her own and a purpose, Rey finding BB-8, Finn, Poe, Luke, Leia, Chewbacca, etc. gave her that family, a found family that may not be blood, but does not need to be.

Found Her Place

Sticking with the idea of Rey finding things throughout her travels, as much as finding a family, she found a place in the Galaxy, a purpose that had alluded her for nineteen years.

Rey became a hero, both on her own and as a part of something larger than her, the Resistance, the fight against tyranny, the struggle between good and evil. That look into the Tatooine twin suns after announcing herself a Skywalker highlights Rey's content nature, her happiness in her life, in the purpose throughout it.
