One Stardew Valley player has realized that watering crops while moving is now entirely possible, thanks to some quality-of-life changes in the latest 1.6 update. Previously, double-watering was an easy mistake to make, as players had to remain stationary while watering crops. Accidentally standing in the wrong spot or aiming just a bit off to the side meant crops would end up taking a drink twice.
In a Reddit post from erwinoli, a quick video showcases the new mechanic, as the poster moves freely while watering the crops. Other fans of Stardew Valley chimed in, some not realizing that this was possible, others making sure to state that this feature was just introduced with the new update.
Watering Crops In Stardew Valley Just Got Easier
Moving While Watering Is Now Possible Thanks To Update 1.6
In Stardew Valley's 1.6 update, the developers overhauled a few of the farming mechanics, meaning players are now able to move across their crops while charging up the watering can. This allows their character to hold and aim the watering can while moving up and down and side to side, precisely watering their crops without double-watering the farming plots, which can waste away precious energy.

Stardew Valley’s 1.6 update is debuting on consoles not in its original form, but in the enhanced version 1.6.9 - new to PCs today, too.
Not only does this save players time and energy, but it also gives them more control over watering their crops, which is always a nice bonus for those who may not have access to sprinklers. There were several quality-of-life features added with the 1.6 update, but this one seems to be easily missed by some fans, as the original poster asks,"WHY HAVEN’T I SEEN ANYONE TALK ABOUT THIS??"
