Blue Grass is a new type of grass in Stardew Valley, introduced with update version 1.6. It is usable and entirely harmless for your character, looks pretty, and has amazing benefits for your farm. In fact, it has amazing nutritional effects on your farm animals, helping you create higher-quality products.

Previously, players had just used Hay to increase friendship hearts with the animals on their farm in Stardew Valley. It is still important to make sure their heart level stays healthy and the highest every day. Now, with Blue Grass, your heart level growth with animals grows double the amount, thus increasing their working speed and producing better items.

With the new Meadowlands Farm option, getting Blue Grass plots on your farm is easy so that you can be in constant supply. Blue Grass can be used frequently with a bit of patience and tending to during the months of Spring, Summer, and Fall. Use a scythe to cut down the grass, yielding you two bushels, and stock it for weekly use. Alternatively, Blue Grass Starter can be obtained from Qi's Walnut Room later in the game on Ginger Island.

The new perk of feeding Blue Grass to your animals should definitely be taken advantage of as well. The Meadowlands Farm option should be used to gain the most benefit from this type of grass. Thankfully, due to your extra ranching benefits, you will be able to grow it quickly throughout the year.
