Mystery Boxes have arrived with the 1.6 update to Stardew Valley, which adds some excitement to everyday tasks in the game. The new update has added an expansive list of things to the game, and players are still uncovering these new features. Of them, the Mystery Boxes are additionally interesting, because the exact content and nature of these boxes still remains a mystery.

With the 1.6 update to Stardew Valley, players can do a host of new things, like start a new farm or get a different pet. While the new tortoise pet has concrete evidence and knowledge for acquiring it, not all of the new features are as straightforward. This includes the Mystery Boxes, of which not much is known at the moment.

This achievement could be earning the “Millionaire” achievement, or it could be finding a Mystery Box from the Trout Derby in the summer. Either way, players will have to be a little patient waiting for them to unlock.

When they do unlock, players will know because at bedtime a cutscene will play of fishing in Stardew Valley. You will sometimes receive a Mystery Box as a reward instead of something else.

Clint the Blacksmith is open for business from Saturday-Thursday 9 A.M. to 4 P.M.

After this, you will have to visit Clint the Blacksmith during his normal operating hours to see what is in your Mystery Box. It will cost 25 Gold to open the box, and you cannot open them any other way. However, based on the current evidence, there is quite a large assortment of items possible to find inside, making it well worth the price tag for the Mystery Box. This is particularly true when players can find these Mystery Boxes just by doing normal tasks, which any strategic Stardew Valley beginner or professional will be completing anyway.
