The latest almost every major platform on the market, including the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

The update itself contains a wide array of new content for players to experience. This includes a completely new farm area known as the Ginger Islands. The location features a brand new narrative, making it ideal for those who have already completed the main story in Stardew Valley. It also comes with a range of additional NPCs and puzzles as well as extra machines to use on the farm, such as a coffee maker and a bone mill. Perhaps as important, though, are a series of minor quality-of-life improvements made in the update that include making retrieving lost items much easier.

The Stardew Valley 1.5 Update for Nintendo Switch is now available for all players according to Indie World. The update has previously been available on PC since December but its console launch has been delayed to allow the developer time to ensure there are fewer bugs and that all of the content works properly. The stand-out features in the new update include new farm items and features along with a completely new area for players to use as their home. The Switch update also introduced local split-screen co-op for the first time, letting s play together without the need for an online connection or multiple consoles.

Update 1.5 has already proven to be a big hit on PC, with the developer revealing that Stardew Valley had its highest number of concurrent players on Steam following the launch of the update. Eric Barone confirmed that more than 90,000 s were playing the game at the same time. This is even more impressive when you consider that Stardew Valley is almost five years old.

The news that Update 1.5 is now available for Nintendo Switch is great news for those who play the popular farming sim on the hybrid console. The Switch version of Stardew Valley has proven popular thanks to the fact it can be used in handheld mode, helping to breathe new life into a title that originally released way back in 2016.
