If Winchesters will become cartoons and team up with Mystery, Inc. for an idea so absurdly perfect it's a wonder it hasn't happened yet.
Supernatural has gone in a number of interesting directions over the years and it's never been afraid to get meta with its narrative. Though it hasn't gone to that well in years, a crossover with trailer for 'ScoobyNatural' proves, the team-up between the two shows will be a lot of fun. But could this trend continue for other CW shows?

An Arrow fan site posed this very idea to star Stephen Amell, asking which cartoon he'd want his show to crossover with. And though his answer is clearly in jest, we're not ruling out the possibility that Team Arrow will one day contend with them machinations of Pinky and the Brain.
Sadly, the key difference between this suggestion and the Supernatural/Scooby-Doo crossover is that those latter shows share certain DNA. They both involve uncovering mysteries, traveling the country, and, of course, the supernatural. Arrow, meanwhile, shares very little of its M.O. with Pinky & the Brain.
Of course, a case could be made that the Brain at least matches many of the villains Green Arrow and his teammates have faced over the years. In fact, he's not far from Cayden James himself. But Supernatural also built absurd and surreal meta episodes into its formula early on. Arrow, meanwhile, has never really gotten that strange. That said, Legends of Tomorrow could easily crossover with a cartoon, and perhaps the annual Arrowverse team-up episode will one day pitt all the heroes against some cartoons. After all, they'll run out of other ideas soon enough.
In the meantime, the season finale date for Arrow and other CW shows have been revealed, so it won't be long now until the show kicks into its endgame for the year. We don't know yet if it will be renewed, but The CW usually announces such news around this time. And given how long Supernatural has lasted, expect Arrow to keep going until it finally makes sense for it to crossover with a cartoon.
