In a recent announcement, Marvel Comics has revealed that the  Doctor Strange before his untimely death, and has introduced a whole new generation of powerful young heroes into the Marvel Universe.

Strange Academy has been critically-acclaimed, and it is encouraging for fans to know that the series was well received enough to be getting a "second semester" starting this summer, where readers can continue to explore the lives of the newly introduced students. The first semester introduced readers to the instantly iconic Emily Bright, Doyle Dormammu, Zoe Laveau, and saw cameos from teaching staff including Doctor Voodoo, Scarlet Witch, Magik, Wong, and even X-Statix's Dead Girl.

Strange Academy - whose entire first semester was written by Skottie Young (I Hate Fairyland, Middlewest) with art by Humberto Ramos (Crimson, Runaways) - wasted no time in expertly establishing its first class of new students as well-rounded, complex characters who have already had to do a lot of growing up in their first year at the school. While Marvel has not revealed whether Young and Ramos will be directly involved in the school's "second semester," hopefully they will at least be a part of the creative process in continuing the vision that they established over the past eighteen months. The second series is ripe to pay off long-simmering storylines, such as Doyle battling his father the Dread Dormammu, the students exploring other realities such as House of M, and the continued family and political drama involving Iric, Alvi, and their villainous mother the Enchantress. Marvel's announcement quoted series writer Young as saying,

This book is so close to my heart. We created so many brand new characters and brought each one to life in such a unique way. ... Working alongside my brother Humberto over these last 18 issues has been such a special thing to me. I’m just glad we have more Strange Academy stories to tell and can’t wait to get them in your hands!

With Strange Academy #15 only just being released there is still plenty of time for Young and Ramos to continue building up the emotionally devastating story of the sweet, desperate-to-be-powerful Calvin losing himself to the influence of the dark and dangerous Lamplighter, as well as the budding relationship between Doyle Dormammu and Emily Bright, However the announcement reveals that the finale will go beyond a simple student quarrel, and may lead to the destruction of the Strange Academy, with Senior Editor Nick Lowe promising, "Seriously, you do not want to miss this issue that is going to destroy you emotionally and destroy the school beyond recognition."

The destruction of Strange Academy has already been foretold, in one of the earliest issues, so is this possible future finally coming to ? The vision of Marvel Universe's newest young heroes. The first run of Strange Academy has successfully established an amazing new crew of characters, and forced them to face a wide variety of terrifying foes and threats, so the ending is guaranteed to be just as thrilling.
