Stranger Things took the world by storm in the summer of 2016. The reasons for its success are numerous, but there's no denying the power of its cast. Everyone was perfectly cast in their respective roles, everyone proves to be solid actors, and many stars - including Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour - have utilized their newfound success and fame to launch movie careers.

Updated on June 22nd, 2022 by Danielle Bruncati: Stranger Things has long since been one of Netflix's biggest and most popular shows and that hasn't changed. Headed into Volume 2 of its fourth season, fans are gearing up to help Stranger Things reclaim its title as the most streamed show on the service. While the fourth season is certainly jammed-backed with action, witty dialogue, and some amazing cinematography, it's the ever-evolving cast that truly makes the show the best of its kind. With four seasons under its belt, it's no surprise that the main cast continues to expand each season adding more adult, teenage, and child characters to round out its incredible ensemble.

Winona Ryder

Joyce puts Christmas lights in her house to communicate with Will

Winona Ryder experienced a bit of a career resurgence by playing Joyce Byers. Ryder is currently 50 years old and will have her 51st birthday on October 29, 2022 - (hopefully) right before the cast starts shooting for the fifth and final season of Stranger Things. Born on October 29, 1971, Ryder is a Scorpio.

According to Astrology Zodiac Signs, Ryder is "ionate and assertive" and would make for a "great leader and guide." And according to Celeb Heights, Ryder is quite petite, standing at 5'3''.

David Harbour

David Harbour proved the breakout adult star of Stranger Things, riding his strong performance as Jim Hopper to mainstream film success. In 2022, Harbour turned 47 years old, so it makes sense that he would have attended high school with Joyce (provided Joyce and Hopper are the same ages as their actors).

Born April 10, 1975, Harbour is an Aries, meaning he is "impatient" and "moody," much like Hopper himself. Harbour is every bit as tall and strong as he appears on screen, standing just under 6'3''.

Finn Wolfhard

Mike Wheeler looking upset in season 4 of Stranger Things

Stranger Things made Finn Wolfhard a star, as he played the "main character" of Mike Wheeler. Like Harbour, he has ridden the Stranger Things success to stardom, with Ghostbusters: Afterlife.

Wolfhard was born on December 23, 2002, meaning he just falls into the Capricorn range. It also means that Wolfhard will turn 20 years old in 2022, and he was 13 when Stranger Things premiered in July of 2016. Wolfhard is one of the taller of the young cast, standing a reported 5'10''.

Millie Bobby Brown

Millie Bobby Brown is arguably the most popular of the child actors, starring in blockbusters like more than a Netflix star, having broken out on the streaming service.

Brown was born on February 19, 2004, meaning she turned 18 in 2022. With a mid-February birthday, Brown is an Aquarius. It also makes her the second youngest of the younger actors, being just 12 when Stranger Things premiered. Brown is also on the shorter side of the cast, standing at 5'4" but she doesn't let her short stature stop her from being one of the most powerful characters in the cast.

Gaten Matarazzo

Gaten Matarazzo proved his comedic chops by playing resident goofball Dustin. Dustin instantly became a fan favorite thanks to his charming personality, sense of humor, and Matarazzo's winning performance.

Matarazzo is a Virgo, having been born on September 8, 2002. Virgos reportedly have a "methodical approach to life" and are "often tender" people. He'll turn 20 years old in 2022 and is the smallest male of the core younger group, standing at 5'5''.

Caleb McLaughlin

Stranger Things Lucas Bandana

Caleb McLaughlin is very successful outside of Stranger Things, having starred as Young Simba in the Broadway production of The Lion King. In addition to his Broadway work, he's also been keeping busy in the TV/movie world and will put his voice acting skills to the test in 2023 in the TV series Warriors.

Born on October 13, 2001, McLaughlin will turn 21 years old in 2022, making him one of the oldest cast amongst the young actors.  McLaughlin is a Libra which is one of the zodiac signs most concerned with attaining balance in themselves and in the world. This seems to fit with McLaughlin's character Lucas, especially in the earlier seasons of the series. McLaughlin reportedly stands at 5'8' putting him right in the middle of his other male costars.

Natalia Dyer

Stranger Things Season 3 Episode 6 Nancy is chased by the monster in the hospital

Natalia Dyer had graduated high school by the time she started playing a high school student on Stranger Things. Born on January 13, 1995, Dyer was 21 years old when the show premiered in the summer of 2016. She celebrated her 27th birthday in 2022.

Like the young man playing her fictional brother, Dyer is also a Capricorn, meaning she is "very serious by nature." And as some viewers could probably tell from the show, Dyer is quite a small woman, standing equal with her co-starMillie Bobby Brown at 5'4'.

Charlie Heaton

Jonathan Byers standing in alley in Stranger Things

What some people might not know is that Charlie Heaton is actually doing a convincing American accent, having been born and raised in England. Heaton is almost exactly one year older than his fictional and real-life girlfriend, Natalia Dyer, having been born on February 6, 1994.

This means Heaton was 22 when the show began and turned 28 in 2022. Heaton is an Aquarius, who are typically "shy and quiet [and] afraid to express their true personality." Sounds a lot like Jonathan Byers. Heaton stands at 5'8'', meaning Mike is now officially taller than Jonathan.

Noah Schnapp

Stranger Things season 2 Will Byers

There is quite an age difference between Jonathan and Will, but perhaps not as big as the one between Charlie Heaton and Noah Schnapp. Schnapp was born on October 3, 2004. This makes him nearly eleven years younger than his fictional brother, and he was just 11 when the show premiered in 2016.

In October of 2022, Schnapp will turn 18 years old, making him the youngest main cast member in Stranger Things. Like Caleb McLaughlin, Schnapp is a Libra, his birthday falling just ten days before McLaughlin's. Schnapp is also the same height as McLaughlin, standing at 5'8''.

Joe Keery

Steve in a Scoops Ahoy costume in Stranger Things

Steve Harrington quickly became a fan favorite, and it was mostly due to some strong writing, a great redemption arc, and of course, Joe Keery's excellent performance. Keery is the oldest member of the teenage cast, having been born on April 24, 1992.

This means that he turned 30 years old in 2022 and was 24 when the show began in July 2016. Born on April 24, Keery is a Taurus, which means he is "practical and well-grounded." Those traits might play into why his character is such a great babysitter to the Party. Keery stands at 5'11", meaning he's only an inch taller than Mike.
