Stranger Things on Netflix, since its first season, has been a widely successful TV show, with both fans and critics alike. Not only does the show have great music and great writing, but its cast at the end of the day is also what makes this show about the '80s such a fun show to watch.
With so many iconic scenes, whether it is Eleven dumping Mike in season 3, or Joyce chewing out Hopper for making her wait at the station, it's hard to pick just one iconic scene for the series. However, each Stranger Things character does have that one moment that stands out the most.
Dustin Henderson - "The Neverending Story"
Dustin Henderson (Gaten Matarazzo) is the goofy, loveable member of the group of kids. In the season 3 finale, "The Battle Of Starcourt," Dustin has an iconic duet with his girlfriend Suzy (Gabriella Pizzolo) over his ham radio, singing the theme song to the movie The Neverending Story.
The scene is both equal parts endearing and funny considering the entire season the audience is made to question whether or not Suzy actually even exists or was she something that Dustin made up? And in the climactic final battle, the kids find out the truth when Suzy forces him to sing the iconic theme song before answering his question to her.
Lucas Sinclair - "Coming Clean To Max"
Season 2 introduced audiences to Max Mayfield (Sadie Sink), who quickly becomes a love interest for Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) and Dustin. However, due to the nature of everything that has happened in Hawkins, for a good portion of the season, they try to protect her by keeping Max in the dark about what happened to them the year before.
When Max has finally had it with being treated like a third wheel, she leaves the group. This is Lucas's moment to step up and be a good friend to Max. That's why, in "The Spy," Lucas takes it upon himself to tell Max the truth about everything that had happened to them, even going as far as telling her about Eleven. It's an important turning point for Lucas and strengthens his relationship with Max.
Mike Wheeler - "We'll Call You El."
In season one episode, "The Weirdo On Maple Street," Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard) has his most iconic moment when he gives Eleven her nickname "El." Still not speaking too much to the boys that have found her, Mike is trying to figure out all he can about her.
When he sees her tattoo, he reacts like any kid would and asks if it's real. When he asks what it stands for, Eleven tells him that it's her, and he introduces himself and then suggests they call her El for short.
Eleven - "Van Flip"
There are so many iconic scenes with Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), but the most iconic is in season 1, episode 7, "The Bathtub," when she and the boys run away from the bad guys on their bikes.
As they turn down a street, vans of agents are racing towards them, seemingly trapped; Eleven uses her powers to flip the van over their heads, ensuring their escape. Up until this point in the show, the audience has only really seen a fraction of Eleven's power, so when she flips the van over their heads, it's obvious as to why the government wants her back.
Will Byers - "Confronting Mike"
The first two seasons for Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) were rough. Being taken to the Upside Down in season one and being possessed by the Mind Flayer in season 2, he hasn't had a chance to be a normal kid like the rest of the group. In season 3, things are beginning to normalize for Will; he can go to the arcade, the mall, anything his friends are doing.
The problem being is that while he still wants to play Dungeons & Dragons, Lucas and Mike are more concerned about their girlfriends, El and Max. Both boys treat Will horribly almost the entire season, but Mike even more so than Lucas.
Finally, in the season 3 episode, "The Case of the Missing Lifeguard," Will snaps and storms out of Will's house; it's an iconic moment for Will because it's the first time he really stands up for himself. It's enough that both Lucas and Mike apologize to him and move forward.
Steve Harrington - "Bathroom Scene"
One of the best arcs is Steve Harrington (Joe Keery), going from a typical high school jerk in season 3 to the kid's surrogate Uncle in season 3. A scene that really shows how far he has come from season one is when he and Robin (Maya Hawke) are hiding in the bathroom in the season 3 episode, "The Bite."
It is here that Robin and Steve share a sweet and memorable moment, as Robin talks to him about her crush on Tammy Thompson. Although Robin had been worried about how Steve would react, Steve is quick to show her that he accepts her for who she is before he teases her about Tammy's singing ambitions. It's one of the best moments in their friendship.
Jim Hopper - "Dancing"
In season two episode, "The Pollywog," it's discovered that Jim Hopper (David Harbor) has been hiding Eleven in a cabin of his in the forest. In a series of flashbacks when they are cleaning the cabin up for them to live in, he finds his vinyl records.
Excited to share music with Eleven, he puts on the song "Don't Mess Around With Jim" and does a dance with her, trying to get her to smile. The stoic, hard Sheriff isn't really shown with his guard down until that point. It's a charming, endearing scene between the newly formed father and daughter.
Joyce Byers - "Christmas Lights"
Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder), in season one, episode three, "Holly, Jolly," has her most iconic scene when she finds that she can communicate with Will by using Christmas lights.
After clearing out the store that she works for and putting them all over her house, Joyce sits in a cabinet holding small white lights, discovering that Will can talk to her. It's such an iconic image from the series that fans associate with her.
Max Mayfield - "Standing Up To Billy"
In the season two finale, "The Gate," Max Mayfield finally stands up to her abusive brother Billy (Dacre Montgomery). The entire season, Billy has been brutally bullying the kids, Lucas especially. After Billy finds out that Max is with Lucas at Will's house, he gets Max and hurts Lucas.
Finally having enough of him, Max gets a tranquilizer meant for Will and stabs Billy with it, making him promise to leave them alone. It's the episode that Max is finally accepted as part of the group by everyone and when she really becomes her own person.
Jonathan Byers - "Should I Stay Or Should I Go?"
In season one "The Weirdo on Maple Street," Jonathan Byers (Charlie Heaton) has a flashback where Jonathan introduces Will to the band The Clash. As he's introducing him to his favorite band, fans can hear their parents arguing in the other room.
The song "Should I Stay Or Should I Go?" plays for the two, and Jonathan turns it up to drown out the fighting. It's an iconic scene because it shows just how much Jonathan loves his brother Will and wants to protect him.
