The wildly successful Stranger Things was released six years ago, and fans are now eagerly awaiting season 4. Created by The Duffer Brothers, the sci-fi drama is incredibly unique with cleverly written characters. Throughout the first three seasons, the characters faced evil in the form of humans, Demogorgons, and everything in between, creating some unforgettable moments.
There are countless scenes in Stranger Things that have the potential to be the best. From Steve’s big moment to awkward school dances, these Reddit s explain their favorite scenes and the reasons why.
Eleven, Mike, And Dustin's Group Hug
While there are numerous heartwarming scenes in Stranger Things, there are times when the characters share endearing moments when it’s least expected. Eleven often steals the show with her powers, however, it’s a different aspect of this scene that makes it a favorite.
When Mike and Dustin are ambushed by bullies, Eleven appears and saves them. She tearfully reveals to Mike that she was the one that opened the gate, however, instead of being angry, both Mike and Dustin embrace her in a hug. Reddit sedugas78 believes this moment "Represents the theme of love and friendship so well."
When Eleven Called For Mike/Mike Called For Eleven
It wasn't long before fans noticed the spark between Mike and Eleven, and although she spent most of her life isolated and alone, she began to trust Mike in season 1.
After Eleven destroys the Demogorgon, she disappears in front of Mike’s eyes, leaving him distressed and calling out her name. When Eleven finds herself in Upside Down, she does the same thing for Mike. Reddit Lacy1410 gives credit to the two for making the scenes so memorable because "They share such a beautiful bond together."
Eleven And Hopper's Argument
The bond that Hopper and Eleven share is one of the unique and greatest aspects of the show. Without realizing it, the two saved each other. Hopper was able to show Eleven what a real family was but allowed himself to heal his wounds in the process. It’s not always straightforward however and there were times when tensions boiled over.
Reddit Affectionate-Ad8709 says "The acting is phenomenal" in the scene where Hopper and Eleven have an argument and she screams, shattering the windows. Reddit Various_Repeat believes that “The little uses of El’s powers leading up to the big finish was just incredible.”
Will Being Resuscitated
Across the three seasons, the characters experienced extremely disturbing situations, however, there was nothing more traumatic than Will than being taken to the Upside Down. While he was eventually rescued, he could never fully leave the harrowing events behind.
At the end of season 1, Hopper and Joyce discover an unconscious Will in the Upside Down. Reddit Vampersis said it "Was emotionally so intense" when Hopper was trying to resuscitate Will whilst having flashbacks of his daughter in the hospital. It was a truly heartbreaking moment and Reddit binaryeye believes "It hasn’t been topped by anything in subsequent seasons."
When Steve Fought The Demogorgon
It’s no secret that Steve undergoes a dramatic change across the seasons and arguably has the greatest Stranger Things character arc. Although he started as the stereotypical popular student, he defied expectations and became the hero that no one knew they needed.
After their encounter with a Demogorgon, Nancy forces Steve to leave the Byers residence. It's not long before the Demogorgon returns, and Reddit jorgeramiirez42 describes what follows as "Epic." When Nancy is seconds away from being killed, Steve makes an almighty entrance and attacks the Demogorgon with a nail-bat.
Eleven Closes The Gate
Up until this point, Eleven had displayed that her powers had unparalleled possibilities, however, the season 2 finale is when she hit her peak. The finale episode is the highest-ranked of Stranger Things season 2, and moments like this are why.
Realizing they need to seal the door to the Upside Down, Eleven goes to Hawkins Lab with Hopper by her side. Revisiting the scene, Redditer twilamite said, "I’m literally getting goosebumps just thinking about it" when Eleven channels every inch of her power and successfully closes the gate.
Jonathan And Nancy's First Kiss
Although Nancy was dating Steve, the spark between Nancy and Jonathan became apparent. Although it wasn’t the quickest road to love, their first kiss lived up to expectations and is one of the most romantic scenes in the Netflix series.
After several attempts at denying their feelings, Nancy and Jonathan finally give in at Murray's apartment and share their first kiss. Reddit camreenicole loves the scene and thinks, "It's so cute seeing someone so shy and awkward like Jonathan coming to with his feelings."
Eleven's Van Flip
Eleven has several incredible moments in the series and proves to be a vital character in many situations. While her array of powers meant she spent most of her life as a test subject, they also allowed her to protect and save her friends on threatening occasions.
Reddit Peridot1708 believes that "No scene will ever come close" to this. When escaping from of Hawkins Lab, the group finds themselves trapped between oncoming vans. That is until Eleven uses her powers to flip the van which Reddit norahs_616 referred to as "So awesome."
Steve And Robin In The Bathroom
The dynamic between Steve and Robin was a highlight of season 3 and she was no doubt the best character introduced after Stranger Things season 1. It seemed like the two would end up together, however, the notable bathroom scene took their relationship in a different direction which Reddit scarlet_speedster985 called "Such a great, powerful scene."
In a raw and heartfelt moment, the two share a deep conversation where Steve reveals that he has feelings for Robin, while Robin discloses her crush on Tammy Thompson. The scene was incredibly well crafted and Redditor BruhBro4lyf claims it was, "Probably the best written scene in the entire show."
The Snow Ball Dance
The Snow Ball was first mentioned in season 1, however, it wasn’t until the season 2 finale that the characters finally got to attend the dance with their friends and respective dates. While being an incredibly wholesome scene, it also perfectly conveyed the normality and awkwardness of a school dance.
Reddit thekrock23 explained that it was their favorite because "It was just nice to see all the characters in a normal happy scene." While Mike and Eleven had their first dance, Dustin hit the jackpot by stealing a dance with Nancy, and Reddit NickGrayson13 believes "The ending of s2 felt perfect."
