In a preview provided to Screen Rant, Stranger Things: The Voyage #1 by Michael Moreci and Todor Hristov begins out in the Bering Sea where Captain Jacoby of The Persephone is facing pushback from his crew for the new engers the ship has just picked up.
Tempers flare between the crew and the Russian engers and Jacoby is failing to keep order. Thankfully, the Russians' lieutenant keeps order among her men and invites Jacoby to her for a drink. Stranger Things: The Voyage #1 Adds New Chapter to Series' Mythos
It wasn't long before Stranger Things began receiving tie-in media to capitalize on its massive success. Since 2018, Dark Horse Comics has been publishing miniseries and one-shots set in the Stranger Things universe to expand its lore. The various comic books have touched on plot points from the series, such as Dr. Brenner's other test subjects at Hawkins Laboratory or the Russians' attempts to weaponize a demogorgon. Though the books aren't strictly canon to the main Stranger Things series, Dark Horse Comics' series have offered fun additional looks into the universe (including an adventure that teamed up the Party with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles).
The preview of Stranger Things: The Voyage #1 doesn't give too much away in of how it ties into the universe's larger mythos. The Persephone does appear to be heading to the Kamchatka Peninsula, the area where Jim Hopper was held prisoner in a labor camp. The peninsula was also where a previous tie-in book, Stranger Things: Kamchatka, was set. Though it's unknown how Captain Jacoby's trip will factor into the grand scheme of things, it sets up a tense mystery in its own right. What made the Russians so desperate to leave their point of origin? And are they connected to the demogorgons that Russia has in Kamchatka?
Stranger Things: The Voyage Tackles a New Mystery

Though Dark Horse's latest miniseries can't provide answers to the last season's stunning cliffhangers, it can return fans to their beloved property for a new story that will hopefully expand the world by revealing an unknown chapter of the universe's history. What will become of Captain Jacoby or his mysterious engers when, or if, they make it to Kamchatka?
