A Street Fighter 5’s final character Luke. The developer revealed further information about Street Fighter 6 in June, including a 2023 release window and confirmation the game will be coming to PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

New features Capcom has announced for Street Fighter 6 include an in-game commentary feature designed to liven up the experience of playing, alongside beautiful fighting animations. It’s also been reported the game will cross-platform play as well as rollback netcode, the latter of which is slowly becoming a staple in fighting games. Street Fighter 6 will include three main game modes: Fighting Ground, World Tour, and Battle Hub, giving players a variety of choices when playing, and while Fighting Ground is where the standard local and online play modes can be found, World Tour will introduce SF6’s open world mode.

Recently, Capcom Europe Brand Manager Matthew Edwards shared a video on Twitter of a Street Fighter 6 player trying the game out at Japan Expo 2022 in Paris, . According to Edwards, the player asked them for the longest combo they could think of. After several attempts, the player is able to deliver the impressive 28-hit combo, but the results aren't what would be expected from such a powerful burst of consecutive attacks. This could indicate Street Fight 6's combat may still need a few balancing tweaks before it potentially releases next year.

In Street Fighter games, there are different types of damage players can dish out, including provisional or temporary damage. This provisional damage, which can slowly be recovered, is what was dealt with in the 28-hit combo by Jamie, one of the characters revealed for Street Fighter 6. It is possible the final release of Street Fighter 6 could change the damage types inflicted with powerful combo attacks, ensuring players are rewarded for accomplishing impressive attack sequences. However, players likely won't know if balancing changes have been applied until future test play videos become available closer to the game's release window.

Despite the lack of damage, it is still impressive to see the 28-hit combo for Street Fighter 6 on display in real-time gameplay. Hopefully, Capcom will be able to adjust the game’s damage scaling, creating a rewarding combat experience for Street Fighter 6 players when they are finally able to try it out.
