Strictly Come Dancing is one of the most beloved television shows in the U.K, and the recent 18th season certainly hasn't disappointed. The show has brought together a fantastic group of celebrities this year who have all given their all to win the famous Glitter Ball.
This series has seen some brilliant dances take place, with the celebrities making massive improvements throughout the show. As ever, there's been great hard work put in from them, with several celebrities growing their fanbases even more than before. But, outside of the dancefloor, where else would people know the celebrities from season 18 of the show?
Jacqui Smith (Politician)
Jacqui Smith was the first person to be eliminated from the series this year, heading home in week one after she and her partner, Anton du Beke failed to impress. However, there's no doubt that Jacqui was putting in a great effort in something that was clearly out of her comfort zone.
Strictly Come Dancing often brings in people from the political world, and that was no different this year, with Jacqui taking up that role. She is a former member of the Labour party where she managed to become the first-ever female Home Secretary.
Jason Bell (Former NFL Player)
Each year, Strictly Come Dancing typically brings in someone from the sporting world to try their hand at something new. Jason Bell was able to take on that role for 2020, with the former NFL star and current pundit being part of the series.
Bell was eliminated in the second week after a Star Wars-themed dance, but he certainly seemed to have a good time while he was part of the show. But Bell is best known for his time as an American Football player, with the former cornerback playing for the Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans, and the New York Giants.
Nicola Adams (Olympic Boxer)
Another sporting athlete that was involved in this season was Nicola Adams, and she actually made history during this season. Nicola was involved in the first-ever same-sex pairing on Strictly Come Dancing, having been put with Katya Jones, rather than a male dancer as is usually the case.
Sadly, Nicola had to withdraw from the show after her dance partner tested positive for COVID-19. Away from the dancefloor, Nicola is best known for being a boxer, having won Olympic Gold medals at both the 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games.
Max George (Singer)
Max George is best known for being a member of the boyband, The Wanted. The group was active from 2009-2014 when they decided to part ways, but they certainly made an impact during their time together before splitting up. They managed to sell over two million singles, with the group proving to be very popular.
On the dancefloor, Max was a hit with the judges as well as he worked with Diane Buswell. During movie week they put together one of the most famous dances of the season as they worked a dance themed to The Simpsons.
Caroline Quentin (Men Behaving Badly)
Caroline Quentin was someone who really impressed on the dancefloor within this season, bringing a level of class and elegance to her performances on the dancefloor. She did a great job with her dancing, bringing her acting skills to the show.
Caroline was very over the top with her performances, often bringing her comedic qualities into the dances, which made her a lot of fun to watch. She's a well-experienced actress who has been involved in a reality of shows from Men Behaving Badly to Blue Murder.
Clara Amfo (Radio DJ)
Clara Amfo headed into the show with a large fanbase thanks to her day job as a Radio One DJ. However, that has only grown due to her brilliant work on Strictly Come Dancing, bringing tons of energy and ion to all of her dances on the show.
Clara hosts the mid-morning show for one of England's biggest radio stations, a role which she took from the popular Fearne Cotton back in 2015, remaining a key part of the Radio One team since that point.
JJ Chalmers (Invictus Games Medalist)
JJ Chalmers is a true inspiration and he has certainly had a memorable life so far. JJ was originally a Royal Marine but was, unfortunately, a victim of a bomb attack while serving, which left him with life-changing injuries, losing two fingers and having his right elbow disintegrate.
But he didn't let that dampen his spirit, and he went on to represent his country at the Invictus Games in non-amputee cycling. Since then he has become a television host, often working in the sporting world.
Ranvir Singh (Good Morning Britain Presenter)
The world of Strictly Come Dancing couldn't be further from what Ranvir Singh's day job is, and that's what made her such a brilliant contestant. Though she fell at the final hurdle, being knocked out in the semi-finals, Ranvir put together some beautiful dances along the way.
She also showcased real growth as a person throughout the series as well, which helped her connect with audiences. Ranvir was able to show a more relaxed side of herself, as normally the journalist is busy hosting Good Morning Britain, which is a far more serious show.
Bill Bailey (Comedian/Actor)
Bill Bailey has been one of the surprise hits of Strictly Come Dancing in 2020. Initially, it wasn't clear how good he would be, but the comedian has thrived on the show, making it all the way to the final alongside his professional partner, Oti Mabuse.
Bill is a veteran of the show business world, and that's why he has looked so comfortable performing on the dancefloor. Bill is known around the world for his incredible comedy shows which are always full of great jokes and musical performances.
HRVY (Singer)
Like Bill Bailey, HRVY has also made it to the finals of Strictly Come Dancing, having seriously impressed throughout the show, being the first person to gain a perfect 30 score from the judges within this season.
The young man is best known for being a singer and television host prior to his involvement on Strictly. His career began back in 2014 and he has had the chance to tour with the likes of Little Mix and The Vamps throughout his career in the music industry so far.
